Biryani: Hindu or Muslim ?

‘break you legs’
I did not say "your legs" so relax. And be on your way. I already said I stood by you but that does not mean I would accept my family members to behave like you. I have right to my personal views but they only are applicable to those near and dear to me. So move on okay. This is getting tedious. For the last time. You can wear what you like. However that does not mean I have to accept that in my family okay? My views only apply on those close to me. You can slap on a miniskirt and twerk yourself in public. Now do please excuse me.

Please don't fight.
I am having problems explaining the concept of secularist but being socially conservative. Conservatism is informed by weight of tradition howsoever informed and accepts change at a philosophical level but is not informed by ruled by dogma or strict religious scripture. It accepts change at a slow generational level. For instance I have no illusions that few generations or maybe even earlier my line might be acting or wearing what @Divergent does that does not mean I accept that now. It's acceptance of gradual change.

Of course I am against scripture being used as prescription and state being used to engorce dogmsa or ritual contours of religion. I get abused by the religious zealots regularly as "westoxified" as you perhaps know. I don't think they thought I would be arch-cultural conservative.

No man, secular or fundo, is liberal about the women of his family.

That said, the breaking of legs was a tad out of character.

Cheers, Doc

Yes. And I duly proffer a apology to @Divergent Although I can defend myself to no limit as you perhaps know that and would win as well. But let's leave the verbal gymnastics asides in the spirit of things that was entirely a wrong thing to say. I guess I meant I would be very upset if I saw that within my family members. The females of our family get lot of respect from the males but we have our "red lines".

Way to ruin thread old people and nerds.
Shall we let young people like you and @Divergent add colour to this thread and give it rip some - Hahaha?

.
The origins of Briyani is Muslim.

Secondly we Pakistanis are not Indians.

We have nothing to do with India.

The origin of biryani is Persian.

Religion had zilch to do with it.

Cheers, Doc

The origin of Briyani is Muslim.

It was a Muslim who invented it.

Don't let Hindus try to steal the credit for it.
