I think we would have to give it the German-American tag. By the way I am acutely aware that we have food inside Pakistan from differant regions that is "ours" and nothing to do with Gangoo Indians. In a business meeting I was 'obliged' to go to expensive "Punjab Restaurent" in heart of London's Covent Garden which is by Sikhs. The food is rubbish. I was like 'yuck' and the prices were fit for royalty. The fact is I know most restaurents or should I say the best restaurents are Pakistani but that does not count jack. The brand themselves as Indian. If owners of a establishment call it Indian do you think customers are going to go around saying "I ate at Pakistani restaurent Pakistani food"? No.So which nation for Hamburger out of the two if we want to narrow down to one?
Muslim. Why? Oh wait let me think, ever seen a vegetable Biryani? No.

But mate you also know that original Biryani is made from beef or mutton...even chicken biryani is a latter addition. and veg biryani just got started so that hindus could enjoy the taste of the "Muslim" dish

Its native to Pak,KPK.. so we know what they are called... chapal kebabOye its chapli Kebab...
Even you? I have seen precious little "Muslimness" effusing from you and here even you are finding religion in food? Go to Marocco where they are 99% Muslim and you won't find any Biryiani about. Go to Hyderabad India and you will find Hindu Indians eating Biryiani.Muslim. Why? Oh wait let me think, ever seen a vegetable Biryani? No.
Biryani isn’t biryani if there’s no meat.
Should we not try to change that perception. Quaid E Azaam was wise when he requested Nehru to refrain from calling his country India.German with American contribution to making it international/ *Hamburg* German Port city.
Now what religion is tea or what religion is bread?
At the perceptive, practical and public level the answer is emphatic "No". What you or I think counts 'jack'.

Some can. And I’m a female.
That could be a regional stuff.
But Pakistan's best dishes display Chapli Kebabs among others, even overseas.
Here in Malaysia I eat Chapli Kebabs, not chappal kebabs:
Yummy.
