Biryani: Hindu or Muslim ?

. .
What a brilliant title for the thread! I didn't watch the video in the OP, but had to hop in because of the ingenious title. It's a brilliant "clickbait".

It leaves me wondering - did I have a Hindu, or a Muslim for lunch yesterday? Hmm, a deep point to ponder.
thanks :sarcastic::sarcastic::sarcastic:

It predates Persia becoming Muslim.

If you must give it a religion, it is Zoroastrian.

Like most good things from the golden age of Islam tend to be.

No shame in that.

I suppose.

Cheers, Doc
Bullshit, don't make me laugh

Dear friends,

Sages declared long time ago that in order to enjoy the life to the full, one needs a lovely wife / husband to share the bed, nice mature wine to drink with friends and delicious food to eat. Being a Muslims I am not supposed to drink (even though many do on the sly) and being 74 years old, alas joys of the night have become less important. Only thing left is food and boy do I enjoy it?

I will eat almost everything unless it is forbidden such as pork. You name it and I have tried it including the ‘Steak Tartar’ which is the raw ground beef. I also believe that the price you pay for food has no relationship to its taste.

I have eaten Bhel Poori at Chaupati in Mumbai, Kebabs in the old city of Delhi, Idli on banana leaves in Chennai when it was still called Madras, Biryani & paneer kofta at the ITC Agra.

Being a Pakistan I have savoured food in nearly every town including the famous Chapli kebabs of Peshawar, Balochi Sajji in Quetta and Sindhi Biryani at Hyderabad.

Does it matter if Biryani is Hindu or Muslim? Food does not have any religion. My advice is to go out and enjoy a good Biryani wherever it is available without worrying about its origins. To quote a rude Punjabi village saying “bair ki bund doondhney ka kiya faida?” meaning what is the point of searching for the behind of bair? Bair is a local cheap fruit available almost everywhere.

Not a huge fan of Indian food personally.

The first dish is pure bliss. The second I've tried and I'm still trying to get used to it.

If that’s provactive his head will explode when he see’s my clubbing outfits. Dont mind him he posted his picture before and he’s a wrinkly 50yo guy. I feel so sorry for the women in his family. I would hate to be part of a family where the men use such words. He’s threatening physical violence for wearing jeans...

Oh my Lord, I called you bhai a few times.
