I related to him what happened to me when I was checking in at a Hotel in NYC - When I gave them my surname he asked me to repeat my surname for him thrice before finally asking me to write it down for him 'cause he couldn't believe that anyone in their right minds could have 'Butt' as their surname ! :rofl:

@Armstrong is there an urdu word for general or you guys just say the English general? I know the lower ranks have urdu names. Also how to say field marshal in urdu?

Jairnal is what is used in common parlance whereas the proper term would probably be Sipah-e-Salar !

So proper word for general is Sipah e Salar?

I think so; though I also think that because it means Leader of the Army/Soldiers even a Divisional Commander maybe called a Sipah-e-Salar but the Sipah-e-Salar of the Army would be the Chief of Army Staff !
