Now, BD folks will understand the importance of defense in a Muslim country. For a reason Pak folks were ready to "eat grass" to get the nukes/missiles etc. capability to deliver the death blow if a red line is crossed, and have been playing tangos with the all the known Super Powers and 7x larger mortal enemy ever since!!! Even being the "most quiet and harmless school boy" in the neighborhood, BD can't apparently hold the ground against the weed-smoking, skirt-wearing, matriarchal Burmese!!!!!!

Indeed. Had Bangladesh posses a powerful military, the Burmese would have thought twice before committing toward this so-called 'campaign'.

It is the only Muslim-majority country in the neighborhood. It did maintain peaceful relations with its pagan neighbors from its end. It never sought domination or challenging any of them. Bangladesh kept its own issues to itself. The Bangladeshis in power and wealth are too attached to home to pay attention or let alone analyze and discuss anything going outside.

But today, especially the post 9/11-era does pose several challenges for Bangladesh which it isn't prepared to face. I am sorry to say, but it is the truth. The fact that Bangladesh is a Muslim-majority country is a problem for some which will soon turn into many in the future.

The Bangladeshi political parties were never in one voice when it came to national issues. The treatment of Khaleda Zia and the drama that unfolded as she was visiting the Rohingya camps is a testament as to how truly bankrupt the politics of Bangladesh is.

And whoever said they are ready to eat grass in exchange for nukes was an idiot.

BD needs to man up and stop bitching.

You can not protest when illiterate animals behave like illiterate animals.

BD military and establishment needs to STFU or take action...

So, what do you think they should do? Get some birds up in the air armed to the teeth and make roasted monkeys out of them and see what the taste is like?

Being in such close proximity between those refugees will hurt/kill them as well. Being in a cross-fire in the case of using mechanized-infantry would be even worse. And I don't think that'll go down well among the Rohingya diaspora. That may have had been their intention.

A country's military is in no position to challenge a civilian government no matter how incompetent it may be (which it really is). That line better stay that way.

In the end, all that matters is one's patience when one has nothing and one's attitude when one has everything.

More than 1300 terrorists are still living and taking refuge in Bangladesh.

BD has given shelters and food to them.

Although Myanmar demanded to return the criminals, BD say "No".

Not a single terrorist was apprehended.

Then Myanmar has no choice but to safeguard the border.

তমব্রু সীমান্তে উত্তেজনার আপাতত অবসান




বান্দরবানের তমব্রু সীমান্তে গত তিনদিন ধরে চলা উত্তেজনার আপাতত অবসান হয়েছে।

অতিরিক্ত সেনা সমাবেশ ও অস্ত্রের মহড়া থাকলেও, বিজিবি’র টহল জোরদারের পর সীমান্ত থেকে সরে পড়েছে তারা। এতে শূন্যরেখায় অবস্থান নেয়া রোহিঙ্গাদের পাশাপাশি স্থানীয়দের মাঝে স্বস্তি ফিরেছে।

এদিকে, মিয়ানমারের সেনা সমাবেশের বিপরীতে সীমান্তে নিজেদের সক্ষমতা বাড়ানো হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছে বিজিবি।

বৃহস্পতিবার থেকেই বাংলাদেশ-মিয়ানমার সীমান্তের তমব্রু পয়েন্টে অবস্থান নিয়েছিল মিয়ানমারের সেনারা। এমনকি সবশেষ শুক্রবার রাতে আরও সাতটি ট্রাকে করে সেনা নিয়ে আসে তারা। অন্তত পাঁচশ সেনা অবস্থান নেয় তমব্রু সীমান্তের খুব কাছাকাছি।

এদিকে বিজিবিও তাদের টহল জোরদার করে। এরপরে শনিবার সকাল সাড়ে নয়টায় পরিস্থিতি পুরোপুরি পাল্টে যায়। বাংলাদেশের সীমান্তরক্ষী বাহিনীর একটি টহল দর মিট পতাকা নিয়ে কোনারপাড়া হয়ে তমব্রু জিরো পয়েন্টের দিকে এগিয়ে গেলে মিয়ানমারের সেনারা ছয়টি ট্রাকে করে সেখান থেকে সরে পড়ে।


এমনকি বাংলাদেশ সীমান্ত ঘেঁসে তৈরি বাঙ্কারে অবস্থান নেয়া সেনারা দ্রুত চলে যায় সেখান থেকে।


এক স্থানীয় বলেন, ‘বিজিবির ২০-২৫ জনের একটা টহল দল দেখে তারা এখান থেকে সরে গেছে।’


এক রোহিঙ্গা বলেন, ‘বিজিবি টহল দল দেখে মিয়ানমার সেনারা চলে গেছে। তাদের মাইকিংও বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে।’


আরেকজন রোহিঙ্গা বলেন, ‘মিয়ানমারের সেনাদের ভয়ে খুবই আতঙ্কে ছিলাম। বিজিপি গাড়ি নিয়ে চলে যাওয়ায় আমরা খুবই খুশি।’

গত তিনদিনের সীমান্ত উত্তেজনার পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে বিজিবির সক্ষমতা বাড়ানো হয়েছে এবং তমব্রু সীমান্তের প্রতিটি পয়েন্টে টহল জোরদার করা হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছে বিজিবি।

লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল মঞ্জুরুল হাসান খান বলেন, ‘সীমান্তে যদি কোন ঘটনা ঘটে সেখানে বিজিবির কাজ ওটা লক্ষ্য রাখা এবং সতর্ক থাকা ও সীমান্ত পাহারা দেয়া। উল্লেখযোগ্য কোন ঘটনা ঘটেনি। দু’দিন আগে আমরা সীমান্তে অস্থিরতা দেখেছি সে তুলনায় সীমান্তের অবস্থা এখন অনেক ভালো এবং শান্ত। আমাদের সতর্ক থাকা দরকার। সীমান্তে বিজিবি’র যে সদস্যগণ, তারা সবসময় সতর্ক আছে। এখন পর্যন্ত আতঙ্কিত হবার মতো কোনো পরিস্থিতি হয়নি। তেমন কিছু হলে আমাদের প্রস্তুতি আছে, আমরা লক্ষ্য রাখবো। আমাদের মাতৃভূমিতে কোন সমস্যা হবে না।’

গত ২৫ আগস্ট থেকে রোহিঙ্গা অনুপ্রবেশ শুরুর পর বেশ কিছু রোহিঙ্গা তমব্রু সীমান্তের নোম্যানস ল্যান্ডে আটকা পড়ে। বিভিন্ন সময় তাদের সেখান থেকে সরাতে উস্কানিমূলক তৎপরতা চালিয়ে আসছে মিয়ানমারের সীমান্তরক্ষী বাহিনী।

মিয়ানমারের সেনারা সীমান্ত এলাকা থেকে সরে যাবার পর এক প্রকার ফাঁকা রয়েছে পুরো এলাকা। এতে স্বস্তি ফিরে এসেছে নোম্যানস ল্যান্ডে অবস্থান নেয়া সাড়ে ছয় হাজার রোহিঙ্গার মধ্যে।
