I have asked the bharatis to go n ask any pakistani whether they believe even without Indian involvement whether they would be able to keep control of East Pakistan!!! Just go n ask n face the reality...

I have talked with lots of senior pakistanis here in canada they all agreed it was the fault of the yahya khan n after the election of 1970 all faced the reality that now it is time for separation of East pakistan ... but all were looking for ways to do it in a peaceful way...

N as I said couple of times earlier pakistan had financial constraint ... n they would not be able to carry out the war for unknown period of time as public opinion and opposition were against it...

Why I do need to check the history of other nations when my own country is the biggest example of non violent movement for freedom.
And who told you that Indians are unheard of role of mukti vahini? We are well tought and we admire the bangladeshi revolution. We know our part as well which was to support the bangladeshi people and freedom fighters millitarilly, morally and projecting their fight genuine in front of international arena and yes we succeed in ddoing so.

I gave you a Pakistani perspective. Quite a balanced one in this case. This is a person who knows this stuff well.

What am I saying?It was an Allied operation.And he was chosen as the supreme commandar but that does not mean Indian forces did bulk of the fighting.They just put the final nails on the coffin.Just accelerated the process.

I'm afraid I will have to differ with you over here brother. Had it not been for the Indian Army, there would not have been a Bangladesh. The PA had defeated the Indian backed rebels (albeit at great cost to the civilian population) and cleared them from the cities and large areas of country-side. It was the Indian invasion which sent things to hell for us. The credit must go to the Indians here, they organized and pumped the brutal insurrection and then didn’t hesitate to take advantage of the PA’s weakened military and diplomatic disposition. I can provide loads more information to you in this regard, if you require.

I talked about it a lot... they teach their version of the story only... skipping many other part... I asked the bharatis to ask one question whether they believe they would be able to control east pakistan with more then 70 million people even without involvement of India...

Without Indian involvement it would take 1 or 2 more years to liberate at best... n yahya khan would not be able to continue for long as public opinion was gainst it and continuing prolonged war is costly which pakistan could not afford to continue for long...
