Best way to send money to Pakistan from outside of Pakistan

Hi,
Are there any folks here who can educate us on how to send money to a bank account in Pakistan? Is it better to send money in to a foreign currency account maintained in Pakistan or a Pkr bank account? Also, do banks in Pakistan charge any fees for money transfers or for that matter, does the government charge taxes on money transfers from outside of Pakistan?

I personally use western union or Xoom.com. Xoom is probably cheaper and works pretty fast. I am open to other options. Feel free to share.
