1. Alphonso AKA Hafoos
Buttery in texture, almost obscenely juicy and implausibly sweet, the Alphonso inspires a cult-like devotion.
In spring, when a gourmand’s fancy has barely turned to thoughts of asparagus, the Alphonso aficionados start popping up on foodie sites like Chowhound. They want to know, in Montreal, Vancouver, San Francisco and London: “Are they here yet?” One query two weeks ago about whether the season had started (it has) sparked more than 100 passionate responses. Its author, a Torontonian, admitted to polishing off eight cases of the mangoes last year.

My opinion on best kind of Alphonsos??
One that are grown along konkan coastline in Maharashtra specially Ratnagiri and nearby areas . Right from the time fruits are in form of flowers they get kissed with moisture and salt landen air from the arabian Sea which stay with them giving them unique and utterly amazing taste .
2. Chaunsa
The Chausa or Chaunsa mango of Pakistan is probably one of the worlds’ top two or three varieties available. It is an exceptionally sweet mango with a wonderful fragrance and delicious soft, succulent flesh with only the minimum of fibre. Externally, as with many Asian mangoes, it is not a fruit of beauty, usually being of a pale, matt yellow appearance, but one inside the thin peel it is a delight. In Urdu the name Chausa means ‘sucker’, so named because the mango is so delicious that not a fragment can be left.
