@1:19 time-stamp one could observe the sheer force of the blast that flattened everything in its radius like it wasn't even there. Not sure if there are any bodies to find of those who were in the blast radius. This should give us some idea of the horrific things humanity has created that could someday lead to their own destruction. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.

With that huge blast and the number of buildings it knocked down, only 113 deaths doesn't make sense. I mean you can have few hundred people in one multi-storey building alone and lot of multi-storey buildings were totally knocked down.

That is precisely my thinking. But since the fire and small explosions were already going on for some time before the detonation of High explosives, maybe the rescue teams already evacuated most of the people in the vicinity.

I am still not convinced. Lebanese government is probably hiding the numbers to reduce embarrassment. After all it was their own folly to have kept 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate for many years in a warehouse in a port area.
