I think, OP (Iota) doesn't realize what is he saying here. He just wanted to insult his parents someday, they saving money for future marriages best moment. The day you decide to leave parents for a girl of your choice.
Then the girl will decide to leave you or divorce you because she doesn't want to stay longer in disaster marriages..
I have seen it happened.
P.S: Please remove Pakistani flag on your side since you don't know much anything on Pakistans.

This whole lota story seems to be fake to me ....
His parents are Pakistanis and Muslims
He is not following Islam and is open minded person, but still care about his parent .... doent feels right to me ,
Lota, Why you are worried about your parent feelings, they have lived their life and now its your ,
You are open minded person and you should consider sending them to old people home.
Dont bring Islam in it , dont bring your parents in it, its your life , if you are not financially depended on them then do what ever you feel like , but i think this is whole fake story ....

Thank goodness sanity prevails. When he started the thread by saying " my parents are conservative but i still love them" alarm bells went off and i switched off. Next think i see that we have 9 pages of this thread. Wow boys that must be a record. I think you need to all pat yourselves on your backs. Well done !!!

My parents are really conservative Pakistani parents, but I love them and they are really nice hardworking people. They will want me to have an arranged marriage with someone from Pakistan. I was raised in USA and I don't think I will want to marry anyone from Pakistan since I'm a really open minded person and would consider anyone from any country and also because I'm not Muslim and don't follow Islam.
I will probably end up marrying someone of a different country other than Pakistan. I can't even date because my parents are so conservative.
I know if my parents ever find out I want to marry someone outside of Pakistan, it will be hard for them to accept. Not to mention if they find out I don't believe in Islam that would cause a lot of emotional pain to them. I really feel sad.
Maybe not marrying at all is the best choice for me if I don't want to hurt my parents.

Thats because all other religions promote violence against parents once they disagree with you. It is human nature to be caring of people close to them.
