While these Pao-bhaji morons are dancing in ecstasy about their 'indigenous' garbage-producing 'achievement', let me enlighten the rest of you with some nuggets of their unparalleled 'vedic' technology, capable of only producing the lowest form of excreta in the vehicular universe, the crap they are polluting the rest of the world with.

Yes I'm talking about none other than the flimsy tinfoil rolling disasters-on-wheels (aka deathtraps) made in that God-forsaken dump known as 'Endeya' (Renault’s Kwid, Hyundai Eon and Maruti Suzuki’s Celerio) which failed every crash test conducted by Global NCAP in Europe. I'm surprised they haven't banned these in Europe yet. Cheap? Cheaper?? Cheapest??? Can you say 'Holy Indian crap' boys and girls ??

But BD still only imports 20k cars. :lol: Surely you guys are rich enough for 45+% tax on cars of 1500cc engine, 100+% tax on 1501-200cc cars and and 200+% tax on 2001-2700cc. The vehicles have to be transported at certain points in the Port area to check for radiation by the Inspectors after the earthquake and Tsunami that destroyed the Fukushima nuclear plant in 2011.

Japan strictly follows a proclaimed decree. It is not like a 3rd rate country called India. So, please do not post all your bullshit news. When exporters cannot export a car with radiation, how do you state that BD Ports were full of those cars?

I bet you to go find more than a dozen Indian Balenos in the streets of Dhaka, they don't buy Bheekhari cars like Balenos. The most common models in use in Dhaka are Toyota Allion and Premio models. Nobody will be caught dead in a Baleno, or worse - an Indian-made one.

That's very correct. Pretty sure you will hardly find Balenos on Dhaka streets. Toyota Allion and Premio are the most popular and used cars. We ourselves have Allion 2016 model. This is for the middle class.

Possibly the only Indian car I noticed was the old black-colored Maruti ones, previously used as taxis if you remember. But they were removed quick and swift due to lack of performance. You will find none of them in Dhaka anymore, even not outside Dhaka. The taxis we had for some years are ALL Toyota.

Talking about rich people in posh neighborhoods (Banani and beyond to Baridhara), up till date I had never seen any Indian cars. Majority are Toyota, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes.. going up till classic sports cars.

Seems, India-educated civil design engineers of Kolkata do not even know how to calculate Bending Moments and Shearing Forces on a loaded structure, though India has many good writers on these subjects. Quality of material and construction procedure could be other reasons for a breakdown of an overhead bridge. No wonder west Bengal is so far behind BD and other parts of India.

I have asked opinion of BD people about Indian cars. They said even a 10 year old Japanese car is better than an India made new car.

BD is not even at the stage where there is any major expansion going on (can check the cement, steel consumption etc) so you would not know the issues at hand. They are implementation specific (standards), not engineering theory specific.

Also remember that even the future workforce of BD will still be worse quality than current workforce of India....and BD corruption will barely improve too (given there is 0 improvement since 2012)...just so you know what to expect when you try to expand your capacities in overpopulated areas down the road:

But we have lots of private production and data compilation regarding that....whereas what is BD's biggest company that can record that?

Whenever BD govt cannot easily fake (through its corruption), the true reality of BD's miserably weak economy comes through (normally consumption related data). Unfortunately BD social indices are by and large controlled/calculated by one of the worlds absolute worst quality and corrupt govts. A large handful of salt is not enough for anything it claims. Just on this very forum a BAL pamphlet on claimed education achievement was exposed to be completely wrong when looking at UNESCO figures for BD.

You know the worst thing? There isn't even any progress for BD regarding corruption. 2012 score was 26, its still 26 today. In contrast India, Indonesia and many other large population countries are improving quite fast at already better levels to begin with.

As long as BD is stuck in its rut of corruption, my impression of its social indices will not change....and I will bring this qualification as to why... each time someone trumpets it like its some overarching truth. North Korea after all is a big success story according to North Korea govt too :P

According to BBS/BAL essentially. BD scores a bit better than North Korea when it comes to corruption....no one cares what you spout regarding health and education (I mean who can seriously believe BD when it sends nearly a million people across to India for the most basic and routine treatments according to this very forum?).

Consumption you can't cover up so easily (given you have to get the private sector both domestic and foreign to play ball and someone will quickly trip the alarm), thats why you fail on it big time.

That's why there is so much dissonance with people's experiences when they go back to BD as well.

Seems the BAL/BBS philosophy has permeated to you defense forum types haha. Have to cling on to something, anything....no matter how fake it most likely is in reality....because of the automatic impression people have about BD (if they have even heard about it in the first place).

Well it was a reply to the guy thinking India exporting cars to Japan is fake and a joke.

Of course Japan is going to hold onto large amounts of relevant car production...even as time goes by. They still produce way more cars than India does (mostly for export), even in raw total numbers. Where they can extract the best premium themselves, they will retain. Where it makes most sense to outsource/utilise other global supply chains, they will invest and do so.

Bangladesh is a cesspool of dumping unfit cars.

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority’s ongoing drive against unfit vehicles and fake driving licenses all over the country appears to have had little impact.
Many unfit vehicles still ply the Dhaka city streets and highways, and at roads in other parts of the country.
Many of these vehicles were hurriedly painted over by transport owners at different areas in the capital, including Jatrabari, Demra and Aminbazar.
Meanwhile, passengers are also suffering because of a sudden shortage of public transportation on the roads.
Experts said the government should arrange alternative transportation service, especially through Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation buses, during drives like these to ease passenger suffering.
The authorities have taken action against only a handful of fake driving licenses and owners of unfit vehicles across the country, during its recent rive following a High Court order.
The highest number of cases were filed in Dhaka metropolitan city against vehicle owners and drivers for driving unfit vehicles, holding fake driving licenses and not possessing driving licenses.
Since August 5, a total of 32 fake driving licenses have been seized while cases have been filed against 460 unfit vehicles, 83 of which have been dumped.

most of the cars in some regions are not custom paid and are not counted in Pakistan data. example balochistan.
But bangladesh will be number 1 in owning boats and cycle rickshah.
