Basha dam to be inaugurated next month

The construction work is expected to finish by 2016/17 so we will not be able to benefit from it before that period

Do not start jumping off from your chairs.... Just relax and hope no international investor run away from the project or this project too will be stranded like Kalabagh

This dam will take long time to finish..as it is situated in a very difficult terrain...not as ideally placed as Kalabagh dam.

lol i just read the statement is coming from raja parvez ashraf..so obviously expect on n off modes like electricity..
there are a hell lot of unsettled issues like rehabilitation of 1000s..how can he just start constructing the dam?btw whos giving the hefty sum needed for the project?

Actually he is right Batman,
Kalabagh's biggest problem was its water division among the 3 provinces

Otherwise it was almost 2 n half times cheaper than Bhasha with almost same size of land making it possible to be cultivated. Only power generation was little less but look at the big difference of money between both projects

Bhasha Dam = 12.5 billion dollars
Kalabagh = Between 4 - 5 billion dollars

Can you support your statement with some facts?

Had you done some research on... location of dam, infrastructure available, the kind of terrain this dam is to be built in ..you would not be asking this..however after your research ..if you are not able to connect the dots..then I will gladly tell you why.

Rehabilitation process will be completed in phases..... You wanted them to evacuate the land way before the construction work? :woot:

They will be shifted to alternative places + compensated as is already planned. The construction work was supposed to kick off by the end of this year.... and they are exactly doing the samething :)
