What's new

Bars, Nightclubs, Lottery, Casinos, HorseRacing - Why can't we have those things?

Pakistan had all these things before its decline began. At no point did these things lead to corruption, military defeats or earthquakes.

These things were openly available in Pakistan and those who went there weren’t questioned nor were those who did not go looked at different. Many of the attendees were tourists anyway since we weren’t considered an intolerant dangerous people.

Previously Pakistanis would pray at home and those who wished to indulge in these things do it openly. Now these things are done hidden and in higher numbers, while long beards and fake prayers are done publicly for show.

Those countries that spent their time trying to impose removal of evils rather than insisting it to be the personal battle it is; are left with nothing more than a facade of piety with nothing else to show for it.

Nice generalization... of an entire group...

Every single ghairat brigadier here has watched p0rhography multiple times but they want to lecture everyone else.

The holier they act the creepier the internet browsing history. Guaranteed hypocrites.

So what? You don't see a disctintion between pornography and prostitution? There are similarities, in both instances people were exploited for the sexual gratification of others - but the levels of exploitation are different. **** stars make good money, women in brothels are often slaves working for the pimps - even in the west. Both acts are haram, both acts have negative connocations for wider society, but one is clearly more dangerous than the other.

Take drugs for example. I've argued that in the UK they should legalise and tax cannabis. I say this because cannabis does very little physical harm to people, it's not that addictive when used in moderation (no more than alchohol) and British society isn't run by Islamic values. If i were given an opportunity to vote on the matter though - i'd vote against my own stance, because as a Muslim i don't want to be responsible for helping enable more haram.

Now a lot of people also take cocaine, heroin, surely you can see the difference between legalising them and legalising cannabis? Coke/Smack is addictive, causes physical harm; nobody should think about legalising it.

Gambling is also an addiction - it wrecks families, breaks homes.

The money spinners you're thinking of cause great societal harm - you only have to go outside and see the harm for yourself.

Just because people who tell you that have also engaged in haram, doesn't make their points invalid.

It's funny - you were talking about an Islamic state the other day. To what purpose? It seems domestically you couldn't care less about the implementation of islamic values.

Yeah... Why criticizing prostitution/rapes/murder/incest... you right mate...
Ermm no. I am saying smoking SHOULD be banned for health reasons, starting with those b.s. sheesha bars where hipsters tend to gather these days. Likewise, do NOT legalize alcohol on health grounds. Do not legalize prostitution prostitution as the risks of people trafficking or exploitation will rise uncontrollably.

Its time to bring all this back and support Naya Pakistan

His wording could have been more restrained... but the Arguments is indeed there...
OP kept out the Brothel part out of the equation... knowing himself that his logic is going to far...
When you play the Objective card you play by it's rules and go all in... otherwise it's being a Hypocrite...

Every "Fun" things that OP gave are bound to the same Brothel logic... It's harmful for society and therefore for each individual...

It's like the liberals who says "as long it doesn't harm anyone or any of those involved" but when you bring the Adult consenting protect Incest logic in it they directly back off and call for "Misunderstanding"
What y
So you equate pornography to prostitution? I mean that is ridiculous.. What guarantee do you have that someone who engages in pornography will then go and hire a prostitute? It is a ridiculous argument and you are being a reverse ghairat general. You are the hypocrite. Prostitution is done out in the open and is a harm to society. Someone who engages in pornography is not jerking off in the middle of the street..

Well put.
We have two choices, be honest about it and have these things regulated by the state or be hypocritical about it and let them be run by criminal mafias with all it's related consequences.

One of the reforms in Saudi Arabia last year was to give women driving licenses. As someone who knows EU or US well, can you imagine that? What was the reason for this ban? Why was there a cinema ban? Why was there a ban on entertainment? There's no end to this. Dear brothers,What we do is just institutionalizing a handful of ulema's understanding about the world.

Yeah... Why criticizing prostitution/rapes/murder/incest then... you right mate...
Let's categorize every wrong the same.
If one is allowed then ALL shall too...

yes.
It's down to personal morality.
If your religious or moral conviction is strong then you won't indulge, if it's not then you are going to do it anyway.
No one has, will or can stop humans being humans.

Thats why Restrictions are applied...
If the West forbade some Immorality... then out of sudden it's ok and they are right... But When Islam do so... it's " We can't... Let them do... Why...please and so on"

Nothing to do with the West.
It's about how you regulate your own society and take it out of the hands of criminals.
Prohibition never solved anything.

It is not down to personal morality and religion does not matter. It is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens from internal and external threats. Drugs, alcoholism, gambling, and prostitution are considered vices across all religious and cultural backgrounds. For the government to then let these things happen and then tax them is poor governance. The government has no right to play the pimp, the drug dealer or the gambler's den. It has the mandate to protect its people against these vices.

If you want to argue that you cannot force people from doing whatever they want then I am assuming you would not have any problems with child prostitution, Beastiality, murder, just fuckin anarchy.

Legalization neither...

You need to fight it... chase those cockroaches of criminals who are using other Human being to get that lambo...
Legalization will only let those criminals change their "illegal" hat to a "legal" one and will not only get that lambo but even that yatch...

And yes everything have to do with the West... Since Those societies are taking example on them... BUT EVEN THEM are today regretting their past move and trying to restrict it... but what Those Muslim societies do? Well they are ripping off that "Learn from our mistake" page and are jumping on it for their "Illusion" to build their economy...
Total waste of breath...

I'm not a robot.
I have a brain as well as a moral compass.
I look at each problem on it's merits.
