Done due to India imposing MEP - minimum export price on any item passing through its territory. Whenever there is a high demand of any item in BD or whenever Indian traders face competition from Bhutan / Nepal MEP is imposed.

Well it is a transit charge. But recently with Zia willing to open up more, our government will also consider giving more concessions to your country. It is always about mutual benefits. Never one way.

Are you kidding me? Bhutan is already a power surplus country. Which country do you think supported the latest mega dam?

Bhutan may have become a power surplus country because it has a very small population and has many points to produce hydropower. However, it has so far used up only 1.6% of its capacity to produce 30,000 mW power.

This is why our Summit group is planning to build power stations to produce 500 mW of electricity. BD needs connectivity through Indian land mass.
