Out of the total 80 pc of Muslim population of the district more than three-fourths are Mymensinghias. In Barpeta district across the river they are 50 pc of the population. Wonder why they had to come to the poor Assam instead of their mega rich cities..

These two long wars are the two main reasons that eastern Bengal became a little Muslim majority area that culminated in the fight for "Pakistan Movement".

Similarly, Tripura Rajya under Manikkya Dynasty also saw the migration of people from the nearby areas now in BD. In this case, it is Hindus who migrated. A similar thing happened to Assam. After many wars since 1205, news continuously spread that Assam was almost vacant. So, the Muslims, especially in Mymensingh, would go there during paddy cultivation season, come back and would again go back during harvest time. Subsequently, some of the extended members of a family would settle there permanently. This thing happened continuously for many centuries and this is why you find many bearded Muslims.

It is a common deceptive tactic of Assamese nationalists and Hindutva thugs that they conveniently ignore the fragmentation of previous larger districts into smaller districts now and fearmonger about increasing number of Muslim majority districts. In 1941, current border Assam had only 7 district, now those 7 districts fragmented into 33 districts. In this fragmentation, many Muslim dominated areas in those 7 districts now emerged as full fledged district. Among which Dhubri included. Dhubri's population is mostly East Bengal origin. But they settled there 100 years ago. There was much demand from Muslim League to include Muslim majority portion of Goalpara district into East Pakistan. Maulana Bhasani in that time was in Dhubri and he lead a massive movement against the 'Line system' and inclusion of those areas into Eastern Pakistan. But Radcliffe line totally deprived East Pakistan of any Muslim majority Thana from Western Assam. It only gave East Pakistan the Sylhet district minus 3 and half Thana from Eastern Assam. Otherwise Dhubri could have been a district of Bangladesh now instead of Assam.

Wrong!! Though Bakhtiyar Khilji lost the war, the Muslims that came with his troops were treated with leniency by the erstwhile Kamarupa king. Their lives were spared and in time were integrated with our Assamese society.

These khilonjia Muslims are unique in the sense that they participate in our festivals like Bihu and visit our Namghars, marriage into Assamese Hindus families are common. They are known as the Goria muslims in Assam. Similarly, the other indigenous muslims of Assam have their own lineage and history that distinguish them from your Bongals.

You have stated an account of history without knowing that people who were captured during Bakhtiar and one another Sultan were allowed to reside, work and marry local women. This group of Muslims looks a little different physically because of inter-mixing with a unique culture that you said. In the beginning, they were allowed to pray Namaaz but were not allowed to call Azaan. I do not know the present situation.

They do not identify themselves with the Bengali Muslims who arrived at a later period from the nearby regions, especially from Mymensingh who were farmers and finally settled in western Assam.

Goalporia is a dialect of Assamese that happens to bear some resemblance to Bengali as well, they also have different culture compared to the Mymensinghias from Bangladesh. The brand of Islam followed is different too. For us in Assam, it takes a second or two to distinguish the new Mymensinghia immigrants from the indigenous Goalporias or the Gorias.

Please, look at the demography from a different angle. Since time immemorial, Assamese and Manipuris tended to follow sexual abstaining as a part of their culture. This is certainly a reason for not bearing many children. Muslim culture encouraged taking multiple wives and widow marriages. It produced many offsprings that caused an increasingly larger Muslim population in Assam. However, I am not sure about the present trend.

Ask your Modi to confirm what I stated instead of blaming Mymensing Muslims to migrate to Assam. But, note one point. No one really takes away another person's job. It is with his two hands that he works hard and earn a living.

The reason for not bearing many children to compete with the Miyas from BD is our owing to our responsibility towards our motherland.

Unfortunately, the trend continues. Tbh, from a personal point of view i am ok with poor coming to India for their livelihood provided they assimilate well and don't dilute our culture. If you look into the population stats of other states like Nagaland, Meghalaya and such you'll find that the rate of growth is higher than the Muslims. What should I say brother. I decided never to talk about the bogus of illegal Bangladeshi stuffs ( spread by Indians and their policians) to another one from the very beginning.
