A minor Bangladeshi girl who was forced into prostitution has been rescued from Surat by Indian police.
She was allegedly kidnapped and was raped several times before being brought to Udhana and pushed into the trade, the Times of India reports.
Police have detained three persons--Ashok alias Munna Bansi Tarai (28), his wife Tasli (23) and Daslip Subhash Nahak (26)--in this connection and are looking for six others from the city and Mumbai.
Ashok had allegedly raped the girl many times and forced her into the trade, according to the law keepers.
Police said they raided a house in Satyanagar in Udhna and rescued the girl acting on a tip-off.
The 17-year-old has reportedly told police that her boyfriend Anwar Hussain brought her to Mumbai on Aug 10 luring her on the pretext of marriage, the report says.
"The girl was kidnapped from Bangladesh and we are searching for her boyfriend who seems to be the key person, Inspector AH Rajput of Udhna Police Station was quoted as saying.
Police suspected Hossain was involved in trafficking girls from Bangladesh for prostitution.
She is a Bangladesh national but was raped in Mumbai and Surat," he said.
Hossain had sold her to a person she identified as Misbah, who raped her several times before selling her to one Dadabhai and his accomplice a week later. They molested the girl further and sold her to one Dilip and Sagar in Surat.
The victim has been sent for medical tests to find out whether she suffered from any other health problems.
