Dhaka : Products of Bangladesh’s giant electronics brand ‘Walton’ are receiving sound response from the foreign visitors and the businessmen at the ongoing 5-day long 119th China Import and Export or Canton Fair-2016, world’s largest expo for electronics products which was begun on April 15 at Guangzhou province in China. Along with the Chinese visitors, a good number of entrepreneurs from Asia, Middle East, Africa, America, Europe and Australia regions are showing their keen interest to import the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ labeled Walton products in their countries due to some distinctive features like world-class quality, eye-catching designs and colours, and reasonable rates. Walton is the first ever Bangladeshi company which took part in Canton Fair under the category of Electronics and Household Electrical Appliances to showcase its wide-range of world-class products like refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, LED televisions, rechargeable fans, electric switch-sockets, induction cookers, blenders, acid lead rechargeable batteries and so many products. From the beginning of the world’s largest electronics expo, a good number of buyers and businessmen are thronging the Walton Mega Pavilion to get ideas on its showcased products.
Walton brand’s inverter technology based refrigerators are the prime attraction of the fair’s visitors. The Bangladeshi company is manufacturing these fridges with special designs mainly for the global markets. After viewing these refrigerators from the outside of Walton pavilion, the visitors are entering into the pavilion and getting detailed features of the refrigerators from the respective executives.
Already, some foreign entrepreneurs, including Richard Doglarse of USA, Dhongana of Singapore based Vet Ghat Ltd, Patrico of RTK Engineering of Mauritius, Min Kim of Miro Company of Korea, Harry Sakharani of Suriname, Nicolas Arias of AZD Company of Colombia, and Hamad Bo Alio of Saudi Arabia, have shown their keen interest to import Walton brand refrigerators.
Terennava, a higher official of Australia based AAA (FN) Company, praised on the attractive design, colour and overall outlook of Walton brand refrigerators. Witnessing the Walton brand 46-liter refrigerator, he said such type of fridges have huge demands in the international market. In addition, Laka Flender of Slovenia, Rahamanviob of Kazakhstan, Elian De La Vega of Bolivia, Raul Sovena of Cameron and Ayaxs of Turkey also visited the Walton Pavilion at the Canton Fair and gather ins and outs information on Walton brand products from the company’s representatives.
The fair’s visitors are greatly emphasizing on the products quality and price competitiveness of different brands. To this extent, Walton brand is in a competitive position compared to other brands, the authorities noted. Along with the foreign visitors, many Bangladeshis are also thronging the Walton pavilion and expressing their excitement on the participation of Walton in the world’s largest mega expo of electronics products.

Syed Mohammad Habibur Rahman, former director of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), said, “I am very surprised on the presence of Bangladeshi brand Walton at Canton Fair. We could not notice that Bangladeshi Walton brand tuned into a giant company.”
Abul Hossain, another former director of DCCI, who also visited the Walton Pavilion at Canton Fair hoped that Walton would be able to grab a significant portion of the world’s electronics market very rapidly.
“We want to see the presence of Bangladeshi brands all over the world,” he added.

Mentionable, the ongoing 5-day long Canton Fair will be concluded on April 19.

This is more or less normal when running GPS or surfing for 20 minutes (especially running video). Larger battery sometimes solves the problem.

This is true but even if the margin is razor thin, the volume sometimes makes up for it. There are plenty of takers in both our countries.

However then you have to shave costs everywhere to make the margin a little higher. Assembling locally in Bangladesh cuts down on import duties, shipping costs and repair costs. Most electronics components (LCD/LED screens, TV tuner boards, refrig. compressors, coils etc.) are also sold at even lower throwaway prices from China. If this wasnt the case then companies wouldn't make products locally in Bangladesh.

When local market gets saturated then Pakistani and Bangladeshi companies should look at markets in Africa and South America.
