Bangladesh to import 250 MWh power/day from India.

Good move India. Support BD to become a strong economy. Then we will have Indian-Subcontinent union, like EU. India-BD-Nepal-Bhutan.. Unified currency Unified vision.. Together we can..

If all 4 country will become equally developed, there will be VISA free movement. (Like Europe)..

I can see some a$$ burning here... Look like some one feel insecure @ indo-BD relation..

i want to add china in here if you do not mind :D

But still its something. Imagine what it will mean for few who may get benefit from it. If it helps, BD can ask for more.

If this 250 MWhr load is to be consumed by Bangladesh during peak load hours then this amount is not small at all. Still we do not know what will happen when grid frequency in India normally stays low during peak hours and we still have to supply this load to them.Seriously some Bangladeshis just want to pounce on India for anything before they know much about the technical deatils:lol:

(25MW x 10h) = 250 megawat-hours (MWh)

Now multiply it by 365 day....

250 megawat-hours x 365 = 91250 MWh

Now, multiply it by 20 years. It is 91,250 x 20 yrs. = 1,825,000MWh. Oh my God!! It is such a big thing!!!

Now, again, multiply it with 1000KW. It is 1,825,000MWh x 1000 KW = 1,825,000,000KW. Oh, oh, oh!!!!!!!! India will sell us so much of power in only 20 years? You must be the real nutt among even the misers of India.

@ My mother used to say, " Dushto loker misti kotha kokhono bhulio na " .

250MWh, if read by non-technical persons, may seem to be a big amount of electricity. But, in reality, it is very small. When a 25 MW of power is transmitted to BD grid for 10 hours in a day, then the supply is (25MW x 10h) = 250 megawat-hours (MWh).

PS : Which day they are talking about daytime wala or 24 ghante wala :undecided:

:Edit:
Apologies! missed the per day part.

 :suicide:

A megawatt hour is the amount of power used if 1,000,000 watts are used for 1 hour/A megawatt hour is 1,000 kilowatt hours.

1 KWh = Rs. 5
250000 KWh x 5 x 24 x 365 = [:evil laugh:]

LOL! I'm just a non-technical person who learnt this stuff in High School

We are actually subsidizing this power for BD for little less than Rs 3 per unit. Plus another 100 MW will be supplied from a new gas powered plant in Tripura once it is commissioned this year. BD is pursuing to get additional 250 MW power at market price in near future.

Ok genius, for BD is chump change.:P
