Whoa! Slow down there mate. Who told you Bhutan was that terrible? Its standards of living are pretty good by the region's standards and entire population gets three square meals a day. Nepal though has to really improve and once Nepali people wake up and choose someone progressive, I am sure they can be the Austria of south Asia.

Bangladesh has done great despite all the problems. It will definitely be one of the fastest growing pretty soon. They have even reduced the dependence on foreign grant and loans etc from 85% in 1988 to just 2% in 2010! Great going!

Bangladesh has potential because it had hard working people and peaceful environment. No mullah and tali-baboons running wild killing people. A lot of my family members have recently started to move their investments to Bangladesh.

I am sure your family will get their money's worth.
I have seen a lot of professionals from India and Pakistan to come and work in our country. Recently in Call Center industry.
I still think a FTA in whole south Asia like EU will do us more good in the long run than bad.

It is very difficult but not impossible. To become 1st despite being 17 times smaller in size than India, BD govt. has to be completely corruption free. Its nearly impossible but not impossible.

Pakistan problem is much bigger than corrupt govt......It is Pakistan policies from years which never changes in any regime...

New government will come ...army will still hold the control....Mullah will still support Jehads and Talibans....I don't know what will change....May be few faces

See the title it say "to become" not "had become".. It will take time..
And just to touch that mark for 2-3 year is not going work we all know pakistan is much larger economy compared to bangladesh and they will retain the second position soon, no doubt BD is currently performing well, but don't forget that bangladesh does get some help in exports to europe and america..

Alhamdulliah ,actually we are growing at an decent avg. of above 5% over the past 2 decades overcoming continuous domestic political instability. If we had a civilized political environment, we could have moved into 8% category which we will inshallah in the near future. I am sure my PAK brothers will also bounce back after US imposed WOT is over.
