Bangladesh taken project to buy Helicopter carrier

. . . .
Helicopter Carrier for what, when we dont have fighters to back it up in the sky?

Oh wait, we have an airforce?

I think this talk is too early.

BN needs modern frigates and submarines to be able to effectively protect an asset like this. BAF also needs 4+ gen fighters to provide air-cover.

Haven't see you since 1945

But yeah , we need MRCA , Frigates and Subs to protect the LHD

.
An LPD doesn't need to be countered by an LPD. Anti-ship missiles from land, ship and air will do the job well enough.
LPD not to counter other LPD but as our current rival have one we need to something for our prestige .:p:

To answer trolls who are biting at our heels, if Bangladesh WANTED something like the Makassar class (which is not a full-on LHD in my opinion), that can be afforded very easily, no question. I'm going to go out on a limb and willing to bet we can even afford something like the Dokdo Class, which IS a proper mini LHD, unlike the Makassar class, as handy that platform is.

But affording something like the US WASP class LHD's (Like the USS Makin Island) which are the definition of a real LHD, along with all the Naval S-70's, LCAC's and LCU's that come with it will be out of the question.

As @DalalErMaNodi bhai noted, you need supporting armed craft like frigates or destroyers to complete an armada, LHD's don't operate on their own.

I don't see ourselves invading hostile foreign shores with LHD's, Myanmar is not a proportional threat needing an LHD.

ROKS Dokdo

To go with a complete LHD invasionary force, you'd need all the things that go with the LHD, such as training, skills, discipline, and most of all equipment such as Large Chinook-size troop carrying Helicopters, medium sized helis like the S70 class, Landing Craft LCAC's, Hovercraft, amphibious AFV's and tanks to make a hostile shore landing.

Before pulling the LHD trigger (In the future), our Navy needs to ask, does this fit our Naval doctrine for invading foreign shores with an expeditionary task force? What are the possibilities of success and the actual outcome? Are the losses involved worth the gain?

One needs to match the tool with the task at hand, not spend Millions to have it - so it can only be paraded on victory day like the Royal Barge mini aircraft carrier of Thailand.
Its long term plan eco by a high naval official so something govt must be mulling regarding:P LPD
We can afford a masaskar class LPD or a downgraded version dokdo class , we are not gong to buy a LPD LHD like wasp or America class . Our Navy planning this LPD for operating as lunching platform for ASW helicopter and command & control center for our naval fleet which gradually upgraded and spending . we can buy few more ASW & search & Rescue helicopter transport helicopter UAV to be operated from this LPD .
Myanmar already showing Saint martin as their territory after buying a second hand sub from india even before buying sub they shown it as their own . so must be prepared beside LPD can be a good platform for disaster management along costal area .

Yeah , but people never thought Bangladesh will grow out of the basket case and or even buy submarines or even make the Padma Bridge on its own.

Getting LHDs in the future doesn't seem too surprising , as time goes on Bangladesh grows its economy in large amounts enough to buy frigates , subs and yes LHDs with those funds.

Again Bangaldesh Navy's idea , with time comes everything

Won't be surprised if Bangladesh even makes a space program in the future
We already send satalite to space so in future our ouwn rocket will take our satellite to space .:P

Navy have new Frigate program already have air wing Air force is also have new fighter program .

I have aleady given a Name of LPD which coming in 2030 or 2040 or at least in 2050 BNS Sheik Hasina .;)

Lmao not LPD we're gonna get LHDs , LHDs look like carriers but LPDs don't

And for for space rockets we don't even have a space agency , the government isn't even taking making rockets seriously.

It takes 10-15 years to make a decent to good space program , while I do have hope for our Aerospace University making satellites but they didn't mention rockets.

We can buy off rocket engines from Ukraine and reverse engineer them to our standards.

But again it depends on the government , I don't see a space program in Bangladesh not until 2039-2040

A LHD or LPD whatever comes will be a 10-15 thousand ton like massakar class

We will start to make satellites in 2-3 years as BAF and Aerospace Univeristy said

And we will get something like the Dokdo LHD not LPD cause it isn't effective as an LHD and BN doesn't want it.

LPDs cannot be used a command mothership , there's no point of LPDs for us since they carry less helicopters.

If it was LPD we would of have gotten it already by now since they aren't expensive

.
We do? I thought now that we have the BAF aerobatics team, we could scare away intruders with our sky dance?

Welcome back bro.
Thanks for bringing variety to our BAF bashing endeavours here.
My rideshare/courier themed taunts were getting monotonous.

Hopefully this will serve as a tipping point for BAF to finally capitulate to the insults and mend their ways.

BAF doesn't feel shame , getting trainers without fighters is like getting a burger without the meat

What purpose will a helicopter carrier serve ? I for one cannot find any objective.
Exclusive economy zone goes out 200 miles into the Bay of Bengal. This is easily covered by many aircrafts and helicopters.
