Bangladesh not invited in Biden’s Summit for Democracy

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were excluded as they are close allies of China but I am surprised at the inclusion of Pakistan. Does this mean Pakistan is moving away from China?
It could be eye wash! Pakistan always had been close ally of usa too! So maybe they don't want to make Pakistan completely upset?

Then the question is will Pakistan upset China by attending this summit?

China won't be upset , as Pakistan is tested ally of China!

China is far more matured nation and won't be upset easily like South Asian immature nations!

Besides Pakistan is a democracy nation , so they can join, no reason for China to be upset!

It's not something like Quad!

But Pakistan will be joining Taiwan in this meeting. Will China be okay with that?

I wonder what will be the discussion going on later, another interesting news to watch in December, particularly from global media like CNN and Al Jazeera. We will see whether Al Jazeera will talk much about it since Qatar is not a democracy.

Taiwan will get moral and political boost in this meeting if all country leaders being invited participate

If Pakistan is excluded. Isn't it obvious it's an anti-China and Russia event? Might as well called it US imperialism talk.

Pakistan is invited just to act as smoke screen to mask the purpose of such event.

Yah, India is a democracy and must be doing very well? Caste system still rampant. Violent and marginalized of minority are still common. Democracy in name only.

A democracy in our neighboring country is not a democracy where farmers commit suicide for not being able to pay back $50 loans. It is a joke.

A democracy is not a democracy where ruling parties buy votes in exchange for a cup of tea and some snacks. And electorates are clueless about the repercussions of choosing their ruler.

No, President Biden is not suffering from dimentia. He knows IK did not steal election, Hasina Bibi regularly does. Hasina needed a good slap from America.

Bhais let's not fight among ourselves. Let's not use harsh words.

Guys it's not a global grand gala ball, that not getting invited is a huge deal.

We should concentrate on improving our GDP, our economy and providing food and housing for our people.

THAT should be the goal rather than be called "democratic" (or a stamp of approval from anyone).

When our GDP improves, everyone globally (including the US) will pay heed.

What will be the outcome of this meeting and how will Bangladesh' participation improve it?

Does the US even care about the "democratic" opinions of little countries in Africa and Asia? It doesn't.

Think.

I am personally glad that we don't have to rub shoulders with people from the rogue province.

Qatar is moving towards a constitutional monarchy, they just had elections for their “Parliament” recently.

Only countries with good governance will succeed. It doesn’t matter whether it is democracy, communism, dictatorship, monarchy. Without good governance, all these political labels are irrelevant to economic, technological, military development. Countries spend outrageous amount of time on what their political system is rather than concentrating on development.

Exactly - and whatever these systems are, there has to be a meritocracy, which is absent in most countries of the subcontinent right now. China's ruling party hierarchy is well known to be among the best qualified globally and certainly the best in Asia at this time.
