Jinnah betrayed us twice...first by completely ignoring this part:
“Independent States” in which the constituent units shall be autonomous and sovereign.
And then by trying to shove Urdu a language not spoken or understood by most of the population of Pakistan as it was somehow more "Islamic". Jinnah ceased to be 'ours' at that moment.

If you or the Government of Pakistan wants to celebrate a genocidal swine at your embassy go right ahead...If that is the ideology that present-day Pakistan wishes to portray to us then why would we stop you?... Bangabandhu was the first president of Bangladesh...a country your government recognized while he was in office...Jinnah's contributions are taught to children in this country in the schools...however, the history of our struggle against Pakistan is taught more as it is more recent and more relevant...The independent rulers of Bengal from King Shashanka to Nawab Sirajuddaulah collectively have more contribution to our history and shaping our culture and identity compared to Jinnah or Bangabandhu...but the relevance of these two people come from their recency.

Quaid didn't live long enough to implement his vision. But it's sad that you lot don't see him like we do.
Do you know how many languages were in West Pakistan? Do you know there is nothing common with Pashto and Urdu? Do you know there is nothing common with Balochi and Urdu? Do you know there is nothing common with Sindhi and Urdu? He asked us to come to common terms, the rest of nation was on point, it was your ego that was in the way. Urdu is one of the easiest language. And majority of you lot already understand it by now, because of Bollywood, though the language is Hindustani and not Urdu but still quite close. And by now there is NFC, you would have gotten your autonomy too. Sad, just sad, if that's the only reason you could come up with.

destroyed by the incompetency of policymakers and establishment of Pakistan (at that time)
You are a product by Hindus and for Hindus. This is a fact you try to numb with your inflated GDP numbers.

Pakistan made mistakes and I don’t care about the physical manifestation of Pakistan, Pakistan is an idea. The reason why we once formed a state was that we shared the same religion, a religion that cannot accept Hindu superiority over a Muslim state.

India could annex you tomorrow and you be happy with it cause GDP or something like that.

I am Muslim first and this is my pain, I don’t see colours or languages.

i actually miss this idune guy. One time Bangladesh Navy went to participate in an international naval excercise hosted by Pakistan Navy and i think it was him or some other guy who suggeseted that BN was sent to spy on PN

i think it was Zia Ul Haque not Musharraf.

Zia was bad for Pak, but Zia never killed Palestines, he was on training mission to jorden,
Palestines were killed by hussain of jorden

But Pakistan Peoples Party supporters started propaganda that zia killed 30-40k palestines, because Arafat claimed 30k killed in the incident,he never name zia for this. but neutral sources claimed only 3000-3400 killed.

Once Israeli minister said king Hussein killed more Palestines than Israel in 20 years.
so, Pakistan Peoples Party supporters changed the name king hussain to zia, in Israeli minister statement.

inflated GDP numbers.
Oh dear!
India could annex you tomorrow and you be happy with it cause GDP or something like that.
The didn't annex us in 71,74,75 when we were at our weakest.

You are a product by Hindus and for Hindus.
You would have rebelled if we were in a position to exploit West Pakistan (we never were) we just wanted parity when it came to public investment and financial aid from US and western countries.
Nobody would want to be treated like a second class citizen in their own land.

I have a question for the Bengali members here:

Regardless for what happened, aren’t you sad about the fact that Pakistan and Bangladesh broke up? The megali idea of Muslims destroyed by Hindus!

I know, at least you export more cheap underwear for overweight Europeans than Pakistan. GDP Zindabad!

Well I am sad yes - but we can still join forces as friends. Strategy unites us (in which China is a major factor).

Exporting underwear is giving way to export of running shoes, dress shoes, leather jackets, smartphones, motorcycles, competition road-bikes, smart refrigerators, microwaves, smart TV's, washing machines, compressors....along with a host of other small products. Soon to include other light engg. items like power tools etc. Can't make chaddis forever.

But you gotta admit. Underwear and t-shirts are a lot easier to export than other things. Everyone needs them. This fiscal garments exports alone has netted some $30 Billion so far, in the middle of Covid.

Bangladesh is following economic growth with a strong military. That is the eventual goal.

Then I assume you'll be able to listen to what Dr. Israar, whom i believe is respected in your country, has to say about the matter. (2 hour long lecture)

Pakistan made mistakes
Atrocities committed during the war against ''ppl you supposedly considered your own'' in the name of Islam , our common religion is not justifiable. The scale is heavier on your side but you can deny it.

In the diplomatic circle, the BD embassy is known as an extension of the Indian embassy. It is a very well-known fact that RAW operates from the BD embassy as well.:agree::agree:
Great...even if Mossad operates from Bangladesh embassy what has that got anything to with celebrating his Birthday?

He lived long enough to ignore the Lahore Resolution...Do you have any idea how much government incentive and patronage it requires for a language and literature to develop and flourish?

How many books do you think got published in Pashto and Punjabi??
He made it quite clear in his speech in Dhaka how he saw Urdu as more Islamic...if we are being honest we know how much patronage our non-Islamic language would have gotten in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Maybe you are comfortable enough to give up language and culture on the word of one man but I am quite thankful for the ego of my ancestors to have stood for our language. And why would the question of ego come here?? We were not supposed to be part of the same country in the first place and you come here to tell us to give up our language for unity with Pashtos and Punjabis...forcing us to be a part of a country we had to wish to be with and telling us to give up our language are pretty good reasons for anyone to come up with.
Ok black jew

Don't say Pakistan with your bacterial infected tongue or we pull it out !
Pakistan...there I said it.

Nobody told you to forsake your language or culture. You were told to learn another language just like the rest of us. According to you Pushton, Sindhi, Punjabi or Balochi culture vanished, because of implementation of Urdu? Like it was only about ego and nothing more.

He made it quite clear in his speech in Dhaka how he saw Urdu as more Islamic...if we are being honest we know how much patronage our non-Islamic language would have gotten in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

So is it not more islamic? It's only logical, Urdu alphabets are similar to Arabic, we as Muslims already learn to read Quran, so its easier to learn Urdu. Like he might have said it in-context of alphabets and nothing more. But an urdu speaker doesn't magically become a muslim, its a language not a religion.

Do you have any idea how much government incentive and patronage it requires for a language and literature to develop and flourish?

Nopes, if you do a survey about 10% of Pakistanis know Urdu. Most of us speak Hindustani, it was only meant to be an official language along with English. Not a big deal, it's all about ego and you know it.

Sadly, I couldn't find Bangladesh official numbers. Glad you could get Pakistan's Books number (ahh wikipedia, how it helps)

I don't know if rissalas or magazines are also considered as books in that mela. But anyways, it might be a cultural thing, you lot must be more book-savy. Anyways, implementation of Urdu wouldn't have changed this cultural aspect. It probably would have increased your appetite of consuming books(local + foreign books), just like movies, you consume bollywood movies no?

We were not supposed to be part of the same country in the first place and you come here to tell us to give up our language for unity with Pashtos and Punjabis...forcing us to be a part of a country we had to wish to be with and telling us to give up our language are pretty good reasons for anyone to come up with.

Sure, but it would have worked out if we had put sincere effort into it. Showed some patience and curbed our egos. Anyways what's lost is lost.... And again no one told you to give up your language, you were just told to learn another one. Bengali would have still been your mother tongue. Learning more only develops the mind. Before 1930's, farsi was taught here, arabic was taught here. Allama Iqbal himself wrote poetry in multiple language, that was cultural thing that vanished with time.
