China has no stake in the Rohingya issue, it's Bangladesh that is going crazy and blaming every country in the region (especially China, India and Pakistan) for the fact that Bangladesh themselves won't even give refugee status to the Rohingyas. Despite multiple requests from the UNHCR to do so.

Now if even Bengali Muslims won't save other Bengali Muslims, what can you expect from anyone else.

We have to understand that Bangladesh is a very small player at this. The WORLD (and much bigger countries that are UN members, including China) have failed at this humanitarian crisis. It is a shame for the whole world, not just Bangladesh.

True, and it's also true that people are suffering all over the world. I don't consider Rohingya to be any more important than the others.

And no, I don't consider the Kokang Chinese in Myanmar to be more important than the others either.

China has the biggest stake in this crisis. You support Myanmar for the sole reason that oil and gas pipeplines runs through Myanmar into China. It is another way to bypass the Malacca straights just like Gwadar in Pakistan is.

Ignoring the comments of some emotionally immature BD posters here who do not make BD government policy, China is not being helpful in stopping the way for sanctions at the UN for Myanmar. Myanmar has left the civilised world and engaged in medieval barbarity. But even this deep disappointment that BD feels at China will not materially affect BD policy towards China. Yes BD will start to source arms from other suppliers like Turkey more vigorously but that is about it.

China does not help BD solely for altruistic reasons. It is doing it to create a strong country that is naturally a friendly one to it. Like the US needs friends, so does China.

So whatever comments that are thrown by posters here like inviting US into BD(lol), and China stopping loans and arms supplies to BD, nothing much will change in the China-BD relationship and it will go from strength to strength. A strong China is in BD interests and a strong BD is in Chinese interests
