I can only really speak for Bengali Americans. We are some of the most well adjusted practicing muslims. And our families came to the US from Bangladesh during and immediately after the era of the '71 war.

Certain East Pakistanis declared independence based on ethnic nationalism, and started launching attacks against other non-Bengali Muslims or even other Bengali Muslims who did not agree with them. This is not tolerated at all in Islam, I don't think I need to bring up the ahadith on asabiyah. Also, Bangladesh sought help from Hindustan against its fellow Muslims, which is even worse. To put the nail in the coffin, there are statues dedicated to this across the country, and people still celebrate 1971 even though it caused further division of the Ummah (not to mention Bangladesh also got absolutely crippled).

And before you say Pakistan started the atrocities, no, we didn't. The Bengali militants started using arms first, the Pakistani military just did it better because it was stronger.

Just because some Bengalis are practising, that doesn't mean Islam and the idea of Bangladesh fit together.

This video is nothing but a cheap propaganda. Significant portion of the video is devoted about some so called atheist and secular blogger. But did these so called journalists bother to show what these so called secular and free thinker blogger write on their blogs? Does those writings has any merits or even any quality? Primary focus is cheap attention seeking and to make some religious people angry.

The face covering girl talked about they chat secretly with other atheist friend.... Why the question was not asked what do you discuss in secret with other atheist? I do not think anyone is even bothered if someone is atheist. Somehow i doubt that. I have frnd from Bangladesh. Very patriotic bengali with a very long and somewhat unrealistic wishlist for he want for Bangladesh. He is also very pro Pakistan. And he would never say Pakistan was entirely in right or right at all.
