Long story short. There is a company called Vingroup in VN that started as property firm then now expands to supermarket operator, smartphone maker and producer of bikes, buses, cars, TV, smart home appliances. It’s the “Samsung of Vietnam”.

This automobile adventure Vinfast came to the mind of the owner of Vingroup less than two years ago. He believed it’s time to make a domestic car.

For BD market, F series (starting price $15k) maybe good?

The small hatchback

This looks very similar to Opel Karl (Asia Market version) but price is much more attractive of course. Thanks for posting this.

Bangladesh is not client state like some other countries that it needs to remain quite specially to a third world developing country which is only called super power just because of having 1.4 billion citizen / robot.

BD is fucking nobody

China is barking up the wrong tree here. It has its interest and BD has hers and should not be surprised in BDs strategic reallignment.

who gives a shit about BD?

You run away from reality and instead insulting person as personal, such a jerk

You know where's Bd position right now? At the bottom of chain food in international society with capital liveable index at par with wartorn cities like Kabul , Damascus or Baghdad

Such country with 160 millions homogenous people with no achievement at all, either in economics, industry, sports, science, military , or even cleanliness of their cities left to be desired. Even dare to mocking China and India in many aspects

Bingo, and they are like ungrateful Indians, biting the hand feeding them while asking for loans and development assistance

Dude...

What do you expect? BD came from zero in 1971 due to you lot between 1947-1971 and the Indians taking away their loot when they left in 1971.

BUT, BD now has a larger economy than Pakistan in dollar terms with 20% less population. It is currently the fastest growing economy in the whole of Asia and predicted to stay that way for some time.

BD will act against China as China is begging to be part of BD's growth story lol
Let us start by punishing China by giving the 16-18 US billion dollar 2nd nuclear power plant to Japan.
BD will also probably not take 10s of billions of US dollars in loans that China is desperate to give us as it wants that to get some interest and work for it's companies.
The price for supporting savages will be enacted and will just get larger over time.

LOL,:rofl: you are begging for our money but claiming we are begging to give loans? how pathetic and delusional of BD

LOL, even LDC countries have begun to laugh at Africa... he may not know South Africa. they may use the Internet for the first times.

Only 13 pc of Bangladeshis use Internet, says survey report

A recently released research report shows that by late 2017 only 13 percent of Bangladeshis aged 15-65 used the Internet and social media. This is despite 45 percent of the same age group owning an Internet-friendly device.

The findings are part of AfterAccess, an international-award-winning effort to collect reliable data on access to and use of mobile phones and the Internet in the Global South.reports UNB.

The Bangladesh-specific results of the AfterAccess surveys were released by a regional ICT-policy think-tank, LIRNEasia, in a city hotel on Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Mustafa Kamal, DG (Engineering & Operation) BTRC, Michael Foley, CEO, Grameenphone, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, CEO, Robi, Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate & Regulatory Affairs of Banglalink, Abu Saeed Khan, Senior Policy Fellow, LIRNEasia were present, among others.

"Mobile phones and the Internet are becoming ubiquitous, and information on access to and use of mobile phone and the Internet are of prime importance to governments and other decision-makers," said lead researcher for the Asia component, Helani Galpaya, CEO of LIRNEasia.

"The available information is insufficient, in that it is either supply-side provided, or not representative of national populations. The only meaningful way to understand the real level of access and use is by talking to users (and non-users) directly. This is what we have done with the AfterAccess surveys."

In Bangladesh, 2,000 households and individuals were surveyed from 100 wards and villages in 40 districts. The sampling methodology was designed to ensure representation of the target group (population aged 15-65) at a national level with 95% confidence interval and a 3.3% margin of error.

The methodology used in Bangladesh is comparable across all 18 survey countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

"This report highlights key issues in our telecommunications sector and provides deep insights on disparity in use of mobile phones, Internet, social media and platforms," said Abu Saeed Khan, Senior Policy Fellow of LIRNEasia. "It also underscores the potential for growth of a Digital Bangladesh, and we must use this data to inform future policy, regulatory and industry decisions."

Sixty-seven percent of Bangladeshis aged 15-65 who do not use the Internet said the main reason for not using the Internet is that they do not know what it is. This finding highlights the importance of creating awareness on the Internet and its uses among the population.

This research was conducted with financial support from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada, the UK Government's Department for International Development (DFID), the Ford Foundation and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

This is published by a respected Indian Online Magazine, two years ago our Internet access rate was 42% and it is probably a lot higher now. Penetration rate of internet users in China from December 2008 to December 2018 was 59.6%. But ours remains the highest in South Asia to date. And our folks surf in English, not Chinese.

Bangladesh has advanced significantly in Internet connectivity and effectively led major South Asian countries, with nearly 42% of total population using Internet for various purposes, according to official sources.

The latest data from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) shows that the total number of Internet users has reached 67.24mn at the end of February, 2017.

The whopping number is around 41.52% of the total population of the country, leaving many Asian powerhouses behind with a huge margin.

According to available data from some Internet users’ monitoring sites, neighbouring India has over 460mn Internet users, which is 34.83% of its total population.

Sri Lanka has 7mn Internet users, which is 29.30% of its total population.

In Pakistan, only 17.81% of its total population use Internet.

The number of Internet users surged in the past nine years from 2.67% in 2008 to 41.52 this year due to some breakthrough decisions and steps taken by the current government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

This year too, the government has given special priority to ICT, as Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has proposed an allocation of 39.74bn taka for the information and communication technology division, an amount which is 21.55bn taka more than the revised budget of 2016-17 year.

Muhith in his budget speech said around 18,500 government offices have been brought under a single network. The existing capacity of the submarine cable has been increased to 200 gbps (gigabits per second) from
44 gbps.

“As of April 2017, the number of mobile telephone and Internet subscribers has increased to around 133.1mn and 70mn respectively,” he said.

The government also has plans to take the rate of Internet penetration in the country to 100%, ensuring high speed broadband internet at cheap rate to all the government offices, educational institutions, health centres and union parishads, expanding 3G network to all across the country and launching 4G by 2020.

“We have already brought all the sub-districts in the country under fibre optic cable network. Work under project titled Info Sarker-3 is going on to bring all the unions in the country under the network,” said State Minister for ICT division Zunaid Ahmed Palak.

“We have set a target of ensuring employment of 2mn people in ICT sector and achieve the export income of $5bn by 2021 by utilising the continuous policy support of the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the digital dividends,” he added.

The point is , contrary to what Chinese posters think, just because someone is waving a fat wallet at you does not mean they own you.
Chinese loans are in the end loans. The US assessment that they are to create a string of pearls is on the dot. Case in point is Hambantota, that project failed all the traditional risk assessment. China comes along to dump a boat load of money on the port and infrastructure project that no one else would finance. As expected, the project did not generate the cash flow causing the Chinese to take over as agreed on the contract. Like it or not they have China running a port on their land for 99 years. What if China does not appear so benevolent or friendly 5, 10, or 20 years from now ? They have to live with that agreement for the remainder of the term or buy out the agreement if China lets them. US AID started out with a genuine intention to help people around the world. 20 years down the line its been politicized and weaponized. Sheikh Mujib found out the hard way in 1974 when he was denied food aid under PL-480 as Mujib exported jute to Cuba earlier.

Bangladesh should only borrow for a project if it is going to generate the cash flow to pay back the loan. There is no free lunch.

Some BD posters perhaps don't clearly understand Chinese non-intervention policy as they think China should interfere as this is part of regional co-operation or China is in a position to put a leash on the Myanmar generals. China does whatever it does to serve its own interest. China will change its policy if it suits Chinese interest also. Case in point is the Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar Economic Corridor. If China wants the project go through they will make sure Rohingya issue is settled first.

Exactly my point. These communist Chinese are selfish, self centered and just for money they can do anything. You should not expect any ethics or value from them.

Which country isn't ? US? BD? China is not a saint, we surely take care of our own interest first, we are very happy about this .

A small country is madly offending all its neighbours. :azn:

China outstrips all other external investors in Bangladesh by a considerable margin. According to the Bangladesh Bank, Bangladesh has received about USD 600 million from China in the first half of the current fiscal year. In the fiscal year 2017-18, foreign direct investment from China reached USD 506 million.

You can always say no to Chinese money.

But the fact is YOU ARE ADDICTED TO IT.

It is not China but Japan.

But you are having overestimating China into Bangladesh.

As long as deals and investment are beneficial to Bangladesh it will welcome and take it. If it is not, Bangladesh will not. That is the position Bangladesh has arrived at this point.

You can think, you can even dream, but before you can get it done, it's still always a dream.

First you have to find a country who has unlimited amount of money and robust economy like China and is willing to invest in BD , good luck with it.
