Bangladesh and Pakistan to jointly build WARSHIPS

I am happy that Pakistan-Bangladesh are Much much better as compared to Indo-Bangladesh relations.

We are brothers and we will remain brothers and Brothers fight sometimes its common in every house and sometimes Enemy takes advantage of our weakness and spreads hatred even more, as i have said before in the Past atrocities were committed by both nations but we have to move on and work together to meet our current challenges.

There was a saying by someone that in South Asia, there is no such thing as a complete divorce lolz:).

Bro I had posted this long ago on the thread about BD-PAK defence relations.I think this thread should not have been open.

They probably started building the ships in Khulna Shipyard with Pakistani help. They are building FACM like these.

arite bro...it should be closed then...i've posted it in the "BANGLADESH-PAKISTAN DEFENCE RELATION" too...lets focus this in that thread...this one should be closed...
by the way, thanks for your info bro...:)...

with all due respect to all the members i dont think that these ships are designed to taken on frigates or destroyers i think their basic job is for coastal defense and patrolling

In order to protect the terrotorial waters from naval assault by aggressors the tactic of swarming the enemy has been adopted. Isolated enemy vessels or enemy fleets will be attacked by swarms of FACMs, all armed with long range guided anti-ship missiles.

The vessel of choice is the Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV) to be built at the Bangladesh Navy operated Khulna Ship Yard (KSY), Khulna, Bangladesh in joint venture between Bangladesh and Pakistan together with technical assistance from China regarding the missile systems that will be procured from them. It is basically a large FACM which will also be used as Offshore and Coastal Patrol Vessels. They will be organized into squadrons of 5x vessels each as is standard for FACs in BN service.

There are plans to initially induct 25-30 vessels in BN service; there is a planned total fleet of 40 vessels for BN alone. Pakistan Navy will be procuring an unknown number of these vessels.

Primary armament consists of 4 (four) C-802A Anti-Ship SSM which will be used to attack FACs and larger surface combatants (such as destroyers, frigates and corvettes). These SSMs already equip the Jianghu-III Class guided missile frigates of BN and will be used to arm the Huangfeng Class FACMs that are already in service. The C-802A (range: 180km) is the improved version of the basic C-802 (range: 120km).

The vessel will be armed with Oto Melara Twin 40L70 Compact Main Gun which is a multi-purpose gun system. It can be used as CIWS, anti-air gun and against surface (ships or on-shore) targets. In addition to the Main Gun there will be Secondary Guns in the form of 2 (two) 12.7mm HMGs, these can be used against vessels and aircraft.

Anti-Air capability is in the form QW-2 VSHORAD SAMs, QW-2 MANPAD, Oto Melara Twin 40L70 Compact and 2x BD-08 MGs. Primarily air cover will be provided in terms of J-10 Vigorous Dragon and F-7BG Skybolt fighter aircraft and naval versions of helicopters like Z-9 and Z-10. The 4x QW-2 VSHORAD SAM launcher is part of the BORA Naval Pedestal Mounted Missile System manufactured by Turkey. The QW-2 is license produced in both Bangladesh and Pakistan. This VSHORAD system will be used to primarily attack enemy strike aircraft. QW-2 MANPAD carried by the crew will be used to attack any aircraft which has not been destroyed by QW-2 VSHORAD fire or to attack UAVs and helicopters. QW-2 MANPAD can be used to attack enemy aircraft when the QW- VSHORAD is being reloaded. Oto Melara Twin 40L70 Compact and the BD-08s can also be used in support of air defence.

The swarming tactic with the use of small and relatively cheap vessels will be used as it will be easier to absorb the loss of smaller vessel than larger ones. For smaller navies on defensive stance larger numbers of smaller vessels are suitable than a few large vessels
