BANGLADESH AND ASIA’S MARITIME BALANCE

then 2020-2022 is far from here.. will Bd continue with current frigate fleet which most of them are aging..?
he does not know much, 1-2 new frigates gonna join within 2018-2020.
and Most of the aging frigate fleet has been already replaced and midterm upgrade

.
Fingers crossed... but I don't think think there will be any compromise towards the military dealings... AL can't really afford to lose the support of the military...
Considering it's the Army that stages coup. I do believe a lack of an Air Force (8 Mig-29 isn't) is something that will make the Army angry towards her. She killed off many of the top brass in Pilkhana to make sure a coup can't be staged for the foreseeable future.

You are the one stating:
Well, they were bound to come her and say that. It wasn't just intended at the one who posted but the ones who were going to.

Don't believe me, check out some of the threads in the Bangladesh Defence section.

The writer has failed to explain what role Bangladesh with its ancient naval assets could play among the big boys in "Asia's maritime balance"!! Even the hilsas in Bay of Bengal aren't convinced!! :)

Don't be jealous, it's only India that had an advanced Navy with 3D AESA radars during ancient times.

Don't laugh. BD section barely manages 5 posts a day when I am not around, thank me for keeping the BD section relevant.
What a shame!! @bongbang @Doyalbaba @

The mini-country whopped your a$$e$ when you tried to invade it in 2001. 8-)

Get over your fantasies, 16 BSF jawans crossed over to BD, they didn't fire at the villagers who caught them, and later they were murdered in cold blood when they were already unarmed, barely any heroic effort. Rather shameful for Bangladesh.

Already edited my reply, check it.
They weren't your "just Jawans". They were meant to be a special unit tasked to enter Bangladesh and destroy BDR weapons storage and then send signals to India to make a move into Bangladesh. Villagers spotted them in a speeding boat and informed BDR. Then a small unit along with villagers armed with sticks surrounded them and then attacked them, thus killing them in the process.

But the maritime capabilities of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, a country that occupies a geopolitically interesting location between South Asia and Southeast Asia, merits some attention.
