Bangladesh Air Force evaluating new 'Fighter-Trainer' aircrafts for purchase

Stick with Hawk. It is a much more proven platform and is used by the USAF, USN, Royal air force and the Royal navy. It can be a great addition to the strike element of BAF.

And For fighter aircraft I will always prefer the Gripen. Small, Agile, can take-off in unprepared runways and has very high MTBO for most of it's parts...and Gripen-NG comes with the GE 414 engine. Can fire both European and American weapon systems. Its a great deal.

.
BAF should be careful with czech aircrafts as they have a high rate of accidents.

Really?? Thats news to me.

Cheers!!!

Hawk is a costly aircraft and i doubt our cash-strapped force will go for an expensive trainer. UAE was selling off its Hawks AFAIK, but they charged a lot.

I think L-159 could be better as we have prior experience of operating L-39s.

Cheers!!!

But it is a far more capable trainer. And also an attack aircraft. So I thought it would be a better choice.

.
L39 seems like did not give us any problem So may be BAF will go for the L159 may be but there is still good trainers up there

.
The probability of going for L-159 Alca is more as BAF already have experience on L-39. Also, considering the future fighter aircraft under consideration and Alca is already been used by Check as Advanced Jet Trainer for JAS-39, I think BAF shall stick to Alca.

.
The Chief of the Bangladesh Air force disclosed that BAF is seriously looking into some new aircrafts for fighter-trainer role. The list of the aircrafts being evaluated are:-

* Aero L-159 - Czech Republic

* Aermacchi M-346 - Russia

* BAE Hawk - UK

* KAI T-50 - South Korea

* Hongdu L-15 - China

* Guizhou FTC-2000 - China
