Yes, do this double-tracking correctly and on schedule and talk of development. No one will raise a question. People have been waiting since 1947 for the double-tracking. But, when even the country is unable to do this small job, brats like you brag about Bullet Trains, Jet Planes, Airports in every Mahalla, Jamuna Tunnel, and wrong planning of Pyra Port.Last segment Laksam-Akhaura 72 km section double track will be completed by 2020, after it entire Dhaka-Chattogram line 325 km would be double track dual gauze. Journey time will be reduce by 2 hours.

Note also that the present one track line is a British time contribution. In 1947 the length was a total of 2,800 km. Now, since after 1971, it has been reduced to about 2,400 km during Golden Bangladesh period.
Thanks for your great input. Only one small thing missing in the anatomy picture of road structure. The thickness of asphalt paving may be kept at 5" in total for the general roads (not long speedways), and is divided into two layers, the one below is called "Base Course" that can be kept at 3", its material a little rough, the other called "Wearing Course" may be kept at 2" with a smoother look. The Coarse Aggregate must be broken stone chips instead of broken bricks as it is done in Bangladesh.https://thefinancialexpress.com.bd/trade/dhaka-city-roads-need-urgent-repair-1507953200
today it's worse than it was in October 2017
those morons build a road by first laying a course of loose bricks on the ground then coating it with an inch or 2 of tarmac and call it a paved road.

Same is also true for the two base/subbase layers below the asphalt. The thicker lowest strata should be broken stones of, say, 1" to 2" size that should be compacted with steel rollers. The little thinner upper one should be composed of about 1/2" sieve size broken stones mixed with sand and quarry wastes and compacted.
In the case of Bangladesh, they just do not study the constitution of modern road structures in the developed countries and apply a stupid old practice of laying bricks or broken bricks, instead. BD society remains inept to adopt and adapt to a developed practice, yet people in the PDF claim their country is developing. Development is not an easy feat and is not possible without adopting a good civil engineering practice which is not happening in BD, unfortunately.
