Indigenous defence products developed in various Bangalore-based Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) laboratories are on display at the ongoing Bahrain International Airshow. The three-day airshow held at Sakhir Airbase, Bahrain kicked off on Thursday. DRDO aims to explore the potential of exporting these advanced systems to friendly countries in the region. The airshow will witness flying demonstration of the AEW&C India the airborne early warning and control system. The AEWA&C, which is mounted on the Embraer jet, has been developed by the Center for Airborne Systems (Cabs) laboratory. This is the first time the aircraft is making a flying display at an airshow outside India. Also on display is the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas. Models of trainer and the naval versions are also on display. The other systems on display include the Aeronautical Development Establishment developed Nishant multi-mission UAV with day and night operational capability and the pilot-less target aircraft Lakshya and active array radar unit.Bangalore’s presence felt at Bahrain Airshow | idrw.org
