What does Bangladesh even have a Air Force for? Their Air Force could literally be wiped out by a squadron of Su-30MKI or Rafale or F-16 or JF-17... They don't even have BVR...

Only their 6 MiG-29 has BVR. The rest of their airforce is practically a flying junk yard.
Are their pilots so stupid they need all these trainers just to learn to fly and fight? So stupid!

Let alone india, even myanmar airforce is stronger than them. They have around 34 MiG-29s with them, Russian MiG-29 Jets 'Attack' China in Myanmar - English pravda.ru of which 20 MiG-29s are the SMT version which they recently bought, lethal stuff. BAF would be shot down like flies.

And the irony in all of this is, its the nationalist government of khalida who scrapped MiG-29, which was procured by the indian appeaser hasina, and bought a whole load of F-7 junks for their airforce. Bangladesh doing all according to plan. They are following the steps. Working on the SAM system now. After fulfillment of SAM they will go for multirole fighters. Defensive role is more important for peace not attack. I know we are behind in defense ;( But beside 6 Migs our f7 BGI is also good in its class

F-7 BGI is the most advanced of all Chengdu F-7 created so far

1) F-7 BGI has a speed of Mach 2.2
2) 7 Hard-points to carry Air to Air missiles , Laser guided bomb, GPS Guided Bombs, Drop tanks
3) Full glass cockpit.
4) can carry 3000 kg Bomb including Chinese Laser Guided Bombs.
5) F-7 BGI has KLJ-6F radar Fire control Radar with 86 km+ Range which is near BVR or BVR considering what is the silver
lining between them and can track 6 and engage 2 enemy aircraft simultaneously.
6) F-7 BGI can carry C-704 Antiship Missiles (Therefore maritime also possible)
7) afterburner: F-7 BGI (82 kN) thrust
8) Missiles procurement are currently unknown for F-7 BGI but they can fire the 70-75 km range PL-12,PL-11 and also PL-2,
PL-5, PL-7, PL-8, PL-9, Magic R.550 and AIM-9 .
9) F-7 BGI got J-7G2 Airframe with double delta wing. This improves the lift at high angles of attack and delays or prevents stalling.
10) G-limit: +8 g / -3 g
11) Service ceiling: 17,500 m (57,420 ft) for F-7 BGI
12) 3 Multi functional HUD displays and Hotas.
13) Chinese Helmet Mounted Sights.
14) Reportedly more maneuverable than most of the Mig21s and many of the other contemporary fighters.

No F-7PG/BG has speed mach 2.2. Because of the double delta wing F-7 speed is slower than MiG21. its speed is limited to Mach2. But it is more manuverable than Mig21.
it only has 5 hardpoints.
It only has 2 or 3 MFDs. Adding tv into the cockpit does not make it "full glass cockpit"
It has no KLJ-6f radar. that radar never got off into production.

That I agree. But only a few avionics upgrades and some tvs inside cockpit. Maybe more maintenance friendly. But that's it.

and whatever BAF works with is none of your business,everyone of us here is fanboyz and trolls!so no point in name calling others air force professionals.And you certainly don't have the right!!so don't do it again.I already reported your posts.

And for your information every single FT-7 in BAF inventory is combat capable,and all of the BAF F-7's now do have BVR missiles.They are upgraded than the F-7's that PAF bought in hundreds;as they have to serve for more than another decade.Check the BAF thread.

The fact is that we must tie up joint def with Malaysia and/or Indonesia to be able to maintain an A class air force. Till then we need to look for the best ground-based Air Def eqpt.

BD posters are getting unnecessarily emotional.

It is an absolute fact that the BAF has been utterly utterly neglected. It is also a fact that funds are limited. The number of pilots we are churning out does also seem completely unnecessary. The Yaks in my opinion was a stupid purchase. I fully get they have a duel role of a trainer and light fighter but considering our potential enemies I can not see the reason for buying them. Unless couple of sqd of something is bought within the year the newly trained pilots will be twiddling their thumbs after receiving training in the yaks and in a potential conflict situation I doubt their effectiveness.

Trainers and actual combat jets are usually purchased and delivered fairly close to each other.... BD has bought the yaks which will begin to be delivered this year and at the moment we have no idea about new fighters.

Trolls aside its a serious situation and I think is a strategic mistake.

After all human resources is the first thing to get done before anything else. All in all, the process can happened with the separation of Military from Politics and civilian matter. And i don't think our Air Force is a first rate ones, as we are severely lacking in several fields to be as such Air Force ....

I think, Bangladesh Air Force must looking up for any country Air Forces who can became a patron country to modeled themselves after and made indigenous reform to suit the criteria for your own needs. Friendly yet neutral country and have a strong tradition in Air Forces like South Korea, Singapore or maybe at some degree United States can be sought for such assistance.

1.Unfortunately politics has been meddling in the development of the air force. We were developing fine with Chinese assistance. And our late President Zia and ex-President Ershad had started close cooperation with Indonesian armed forces.
2. However the current India friendly govt doesn't seem comfortable in developing offensive capability that could annoy our neighbor.
