What's new

BAKHTER SHIKAN (Pakistani ATGM) destroy T90 tank .

You do know Baktar Shukan and HJ-8 are the same thing?

As for the others calling it an outdated ATGM against T-90 whatever. What you kids forget is even an outdated AT gun can take out the most modern tank if it happens to land a hit at the right spot.
No tank is without weak sections.
And its not always about penetration values and amount of armor. You guys need to read more on tanks and tanks warfare or atleast the history of it.
Yup but thats the luck. What are the probabilities of an old ATGM hit the weak spot? As a design feature, weak areas are those which are likely to hit less. Modern anti tank missiles are programmed to take advantages of those weak areas but not the older one.

In anyways its better to talk in terms of probabilities and not possibilities, otherwise even anti material rifle can take down a tank

Maximum behind ERA is 750mm (so we can assume the HRA penetartion can be anywhere near 1000 mm Maximum)

However if we look at error and minimum penetration than it is well near to 600 mm with Tandem Warhead

These are specs of two variants of HJ-8: HJ-8C that has been in PA service for years now and the HJ-8D (recently deployed).

Why are you assuming that all of Indian Army will be riding on T90s, while going in to war with Pakistan?
Also why are you assuming that all T90s will be facing BS missile at 90 degree straight line, where a tank has maximum thickness?
What about other vehicles? BMP1, BMP2, T72, Trucks, AA carrying vehicles, SP artillery, towed artillery, hardened bunkers, MG nests, hastily prepared defensive posts etc. etc.

There are endless numbers of targets and BS is more then enough to target those and is an excellent platform

.
Or put it this way, if Baktar shikan is capable enough then why buying Kornet E missile?
India acquired T-90 in 2001 i think. PA started production of G-A/B-S at end of 90's. Thousands of these ATGM's have been produced so far and it has been integrated on Gunships also apart from land systems. Secondly, If India has upgraded T-90, why wouldn't Pakistan upgrade G-A variants to take on upgraded T-90. A big order of AGM-114 Hellfire has not materialized though on shopping list with AH-1Z. UMTAS future in PA is also linked with T-129 acquisition. Kornet E has thus been ordered. This however doesn't mean that G-A is futile against T-90.

Lets agree to disagree

Because this thread is about baktar shikan v/s T90. And not about efrectiveness of T90.

In a real war there will be thousands of factors and hundred of effective utilization of baktar shikan but right niw we are talking about specific comparision

Baktar-Shikan is capable of penetrating the glorified T-90, just like the inferior F-16 is of downing the invincible Su-30MKI and its Bars. 8-)
