His naiveté on giving Bajwa an extension was so bad that it pales in comparison to Nawaz Sharif brilliance of getting thrown out by 3 army Chiefs. Making mistakes is part of the process. It is fact, Elites are not ready for change, which is due, and eventually, it has to move by the law of nature. Otherwise, this elite is on self destructive path or they will destroy the country or bankrupt.

The Saudis were happy, Pakistan was starting to mend ties with Russia.

Remember, the Saudis and US were not seeing eye to eye on Kashoggi issue and going against US instructions to OPEC. In addition, MBS was warming Saudi relations with Russia.

Zoom it out, the Saudis will like to see Pakistan standing on its own feet, rather than having it borrowing money or asking for deferred payments on oil imports.

Coming back to IK’s worse decision, Bajwa’s extension would have to be up there.

Imagine Bajwa’s delusions when in his last speech he said is willing to forgive IK for the false narrative against him or he was knee deep into politics pre Feb but post Feb he disconnected from politics. This guy is seriously ill.
