So your saying BAF is buying these K-8 in a combat role rather than as trainers?
Yak-130 is probably good enough to take on fighters such as Mig-29 and JF-17 in WVR engagements.
K-8W has no chance against them.

With a very low level of performance platform, even the Yak-130 cannot be used in a dense combat role, and never against Mig-29 or JF-17. Read below its flight specifications:Yak-130 is probably good enough to take on fighters such as Mig-29 and JF-17 in WVR engagements.
K-8W has no chance against them.

What is your idea, do the trainers come first or the fighters? It is certainly the trainers. All the airforces have so many trainers in their stock. No one with a sane mind will ever think of using the trainers like K-8s in the actual combat. At least give our BAF the benefit of doubt that the officers there are not insane. Do you really think BAF will use the trainers to bomb or fight the enemy planes? Read about how low performer can be a trainer.
"The K-8 can climb at a rate of 30m/s. The maximum speed is 800km/h. The range and service ceiling of the aircraft are 2,140km and 13,600m respectively. The maximum endurance is four hours 25 minutes".
BAF is not alone, many countries have so many trainers including K-8. Even a small MAF has 62 units of K-8 planes. Only when BAF inducts trainers in adequate numbers you guys start badmouthing it. Read below:
"Egypt (118), Ghana (four), Myanmar (62), Namibia (12), Pakistan (55), China (200), Sri Lanka (six), Sudan (12), Tanzania (six), Zambia (eight) and Zimbabwe (11)".
But, who can teach this simple thing to a talkative @Marine Rouge? She is bent on proving that BAF bought the trainer light aircraft only for a combat role. Keep on blabbering Ms. @Marine Rouge.Buying trainers doesn't imply fighters. If about 50 'trainers' are mostly for training for a soon to be inducted fighter, BAF should suddenly see an influx of a large number of pilots. Their training will be worth a couple of squadrons, if that human resource is available.
BD currently has more than enough trainers for a sudden fighter induction. But I wouldn't blame anyone for hoping.
Get the MiG35.
Stupid, nobody trolled or abused you. But, learn to respect the history as it has unfurled in the past. Are you not a troll when you bring history in the present thread and then complain against others to the administrator. Grow up a bit, baby!!I would like to know the reason you accuse some individuals of insults and are quick to ban knowledgeable members like @Nilgiri and poor old el sidd's nick gets changed to Retired Troll.
nope. we dont have 62 K-8. but somehow around 40 units as we brought them to assemble locally. and we used them as COIN role in insurgency area. that's why the number is high. if not we dont need that much. and even with such a high number, ratio of trainer : fighter would be 1:1 ( 12 x Yak-130 + 40 K-8W ) as we have 31 Mig-29 and 30+ F-7 excluding the orders (16 x JF-17 and 6 x Su-30SME.)Even a small MAF has 62 units of K-8 planes. Only when BAF inducts trainers in adequate numbers you guys start badmouthing it
Just my assumption, but so far there is no indication of Bd to increasing the input of fighter pilots by increasing the input of number trainee by adding more basic trainer squadrons or even training aircraft.
Hold your horses mouth, Myanmar do the job as yours with using K8 as their low cost patroller, trainerand light attack aircraft, but they got comparable fighter number with their trainer of 31 Mig 29 and 24 J7 . Egypt got more than double of F16 (210) and other frontline fighter like raffale and mirage 2000 compared to their trainer jet, Pakistan got more than 80 F16, 60 Mirages and more than 100 JF 17 fighter, China got more than 2000 fighter like Flanker, J10, J8 and other. Dont you know if Sudan got more than 60 Mig 29, 12 Frog foot and other fighter in decent number? Well how about Bd? You got only 8 Mig 29, 16 newly built J7Bg and already ordered 16 Yaks 130, 8 K8 and ordered 23 more? The disparity is too big in near future
what she said is nothing wrong. But, who can teach this simple thing to a talkative @Marine Rouge? He is bent on proving that BAF bought the trainer light aircraft only for a combat role. Keep on blabbering Mr. @Marine Rouge.

why so serious .? she is talking from positive point of views. she didn't say BD will substitute MiG29's interceptor role with K-8. and K-8 can definitely be used as light attack fighter as it can carry couple of PL-5 or PL-7. So what she said is nothing wrong.No. Shes likely wrong. What is her reasoning for saying such a thing?
Nice one, can you help me understand how you reached that conclusion?Yak-130 is probably good enough to take on fighters such as Mig-29 and JF-17 in WVR engagements.
K-8W has no chance against them.
@Windjammer your thunder can be shot down by YAK-130?Yak-130 is probably good enough to take on fighters such as Mig-29 and JF-17 in WVR engagements.
