Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA. Azerbaijan will soon start producing missiles together with Turkey’s ROKETSAN company. ROKETSAN told APA about it exclusively.

Production line has been established at one of the facilities of Azerbaijan with the participation of ROKETSAN. The sides signed a contract on starting production in Istanbul on May 8.

In accordance with the contract, 107mm and 122mm caliber missiles will be produced in Azerbaijan. Only the engine of the missiles will be made by ROKETSAN. The other parts will be made and assembled in Azerbaijan.

Armenia has no proper airforce they have no navy and Turkey will protect it from any Iranian agression so why do they spend that much money on radars or air defence missile systems?

They can succesfully defend themselves from their enemies only with a strong landforce, priority should be to invest all funds to landforces instead imo.

28 May, Republic Day.

When has Turkey given any indication that they are prepared to defend Azerbaijan from Iran. What, that "air show" they did several years ago? Yeah right. Even if it did, Iran can do some real damage in a short amount of time. Do you know how fast Iranian missiles can reach Baku?

(Just a digression, and idk but Ir.Tab. might confirm this, doesn't presidential candidate Hassan Rouhani view Azerbaijan as a hostile state? He's a favorite in the upcoming elects as far as I know...)

Azerbaijan should spend a lot on its navy, so as to protect its Caspian oil interests (without which economy will suffer). Azerbaijan experiences threats from both Iran and Turkmenistan in this area.

As for air-defence, and this is speculation, I think it may be towards Russia as well. Azerbaijan has purchased the PMU2 Favorit system, which even the Russians will have a hard time getting around.
