Featured Azerbaijan and Pakistan JF-17 negotiations

Pakistan is said to producer 12 units of Block-3 this year, while the production capacity is twice this number. Will the additional units go to export customers?

Azerbaijan will get blk 3's before pakistan
Are those reporter's even serious
maximum production capacity is around 24, while PAF wants to induct just around 12-15/year due to budgetary issues and to maintain optimum output till 2030 when azm takes over ..so it is possible
but we will have to wait..

Oh well ... this is reported by some uninformed reporters since years ... as long as neither CAC/AVIC or PAC confirms anything I do't believe it.
that wont happen untill delivery is vey near but you are right, probably not true
one wil alos think azeris wouldn't want to spend money on arms now since Armenians are done and would rather focus on spending billions for rehabilitation

having said a modern fighter will really change the balance of power in that region, we saw what drones did, jf17 is completely different beast

4 dual seater still
Left out of total order of 28 dual seater so 12 block 3 plus 4 remaining dual seater will make total 16 capacity for paf per year or for 2021

Anything on top of that is international order capacity 24-16 = approximately 8 or 9 of max is 25 but it’s adjustment is always possible

Hi,

What do you mean by " countries that count "---.

None of those countries air forces are of any significant count in front of the PAF---so if Paf accepts this aircraft as the most utilitarian aircraft for the force---then by default it is a superior aircraft---.

Now " those countries that count " have their own choices---. They have been using a certain aircraft or certain products that have been " time tested " by them---and it is not easy to leave a time tested weapon for a new one---.

People who buy BMW's and Mercedes can also afford to buy hondas and toyotas---but they don't---even though both are more reliable and have a higher resale value---. But then that is not what " that " buyer is looking for---.

he is looking for a show piece which he believe that would satisfy his need.

A good example is Myanmar and Nigeria---the FC1 / JF17 would be the most advanced fighting equipment that ever showed up at their doorsteps available to them and they are happy as a cockerspaniel with his plate fuul of beefy delights---.
Hi Mastan,
I totally agree. when a country has the resources and option to buy the jets from Western Europe with full political support and finances are not an issue then it wont waste anytime looking beyond American, French or British jets.
one more thing is that this fighter jet market is fought with bare knuckles and its every man for himself. Yanks dont hesitate to bully and subvert the projects or sales of their own dear cousins in the North or across the pond. I am referring to closed projects of Canada and Britain.

no doubt our jet is no less and this is why PAF is confident to field it in many major airshows in the middle east and Europe.

IMHO, Devoting half of the production capacity to exports will help subsidize domestic acquisitions and allowing the program to be self sustaining. This allows the PAF to move on to developing or inducting other platforms.

With a big proviso that the orders are there. If China has excess capacity why not utilize that instead of increasing production rates when confirmed orders have not been placed. One needs to think of what the workforce will do if the work dries up. So if we have confirmed orders which will keep us going then by all means

Not Pakistanis. Just Pak Military. They think they can do everything. Civilian input is a red line for them. Marketing and promotion is an art in itself which is the job of business grads. Not every thing can be taught in military academies.
The tragedy is those who master in their field they left the country for money either they are in army civilian or bureaucracy and those who suppose to help out depts they later threat each other "daro us din say jab nawaz sharif apnay dil kay raaz bataye ga" (mariam safdar).
we as nation change our attitude rather than blaming military they doing best with in their limited budget.

Is this deal confirmed? I saw this

says that Russian Mig-35 offer lost against Pakistan's Jf-17 offer, implies that there is a done deal?
