Latif Siddiqui Removed as Minister
Abdul Latif Siddiqui was removed as Minister of Post, Tele Communications and Information for his irresponsible remarks that demeaned Hajj.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took the decision, said a competent source on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, BNP demanded that Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui to be expelled from Cabinet for his comment on Hajj.
Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan and Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi raised the demand in separate programme.
Jamaat-e-Islami and Hizafat-e Islam issued similar statements after Siddiqui said he was against Hajj, Tablig and Jamaat-e-Islami at a discussion in New York on Sunday.
