Avionics Eng (IST) VS CS (Fast)

I am seriously considering Leaving CS Fast( 3rd semester) for avionics Eng (IST) mainly because of extremely shitty administration and because i find in rather extremely boring.
Your Suggestions Would be appreciated Especially your @ssethii and @JamD

My advise would be, if you find a field boring then leave it. Always choose the field that excites you, a field that will not only get you an income but something you will be happy to be part of for the rest of your life. Something that you are naturally good at will be a bonus.

Even though I would strongly vouch for IST but keep in mind I wasn't there when the avionics program was started. I think this is going to be the first batch so there might be some teething problems. The aerospace program is top notch, that I can say.

Also remember there are good and bad things everywhere so don't just switch because of administrative problems because IST has its fair share of them too. It is really about your motivation.

On the bright side, if going into defence organizations is your future plan it should be much easier with IST as they directly recruit from here and you might even get sponsored on admission if your merit is high.

Feel free to ask any other questions as well, especially about ist.

No this is the second Batch. I got admitted last year but due to my shear stupidity and Laziness missed my Chance. Last time it was aerospace now Its Avionics and more lists to come so lets see...

Then there isnt even a discussion. Go for it. Also living near islamabad for 4 years may make you want to shift there permanently as it did to me lol. Born and raised in karachi, but can't stand it anymore.

Being a former Fastian and suffered at the hands of the administration, I can understand your feeling of despair right now. They literally made me a ping pong ball bouncing back and forth between head office and Isb campus at one point of time. And the current campus director is worst of all in this regard, though you will find few nice guys too like guy named Akhter from 208 whom you will find quite motivating and providing out of the book solutions for your troubles. Having said that I would still not recommend you to leave Fast for IST. I think it’s simply not worth it. If you have interest in this field you should consider applying for the yearly induction of engineers in PAF while continuing what you are doing right now.
