What's new

AVIC Presents FC-31 Stealth Fighter model to Pakistan Air Force Chief.

Itni lambi tou na chor yara. Ye tou pakri bhi nahi jaarhi.

Pakistan's Defense budget FY-2016 = $8 Billion - By 2022 it will exceed to $10 billion given the avg GDP growth of 4-5%

10 Billions per year over a fiscal cycle of 5 years = 50 billion dollars.

Hehehehe $1.6 billion budget hai PAF ka is saal. Hansain nahi tou kia karain. :D

Procurement allocations are not made on yearly basis

.
Update : In the presentation J31 used "Optical" sensors to fire BVR at very long ranges - to dispatch many Su30's - it was a devastating performance, the "adversary" aircraft - representing the entity to the east.

Also presented was the "net centric capability" - J31 can operate a swarm of UAV's which have both surveillance, battle damage assessment, attack both air/ground capability, with the 31 acting as a conductor in a symphony.

Also the 31 avionics are going to introduce a revolutionary new ergonomic flight computer which will allow the aircraft to fly itself and allow the pilot to concentrate on the swarm communications.

Some of the above capability will come with the first aircraft others in a series of upgrades/

From other thread.

$50 billion is in no way possible, either you will have to do hyper inflation, or you have to divert most of public spending to defence, both of which is impossible, so you are wrong in this assumption.

$50 billion in 5 years at 10 billion per year. Current budget is 8 billion dollars which means 40 billion dollars / 5 years. Procurement costs are not paid in a single payment.

Imagine if you command a swarm of Burraq UCAVs or larger MALE attack UAVs. They will be one heck of a force multiplier element for ISR + strike roles.

Bhai, yearly allocation is for 'operational costs'.

Looks aweaome J31. But will it be at part with western counterparts only time will tell. :coffee:

$50 billion cumulative in next 5 years is possible but then you need to look at capex ratio. It is usually around 30%. Which will make $15 billion for all three forces. PAF share is around 25-30% so you have around 4 to 5 billion to spend on new jets.

4-5 billion should suffice for 2 squadrons.

two interesting questions.
will china induct j-31?
and will they develop ws-13 or will they stick to rd-93/33?

so far it seems china will induct it as j-20 alone isnt enough for China's fifth gen aspirations. this also means that they will focus on ws-13

1) No, J-31 is for customers exports especially Pakistan
2) Yes, same RD-93/33 as our JF-17

:(

Pakistan should purchase F35 more capables until J-31 must complete all the process.

Or autonomous mini-drones. The pilot could direct the swarm of 40-50 autonomous swarming drones with a small explosive charge to target air-defense radars or ground forces picked up by the ESM and EO equipment found on the host aircraft (in your case the J-31). The ball has already begun rolling, its only a matter of time.

This aircraft opens up a whole different dimension of combat capabilities to PAF. Welcome to 5th gen.

.
@Horus why the procurement date of J-31 is so late ? 2020-2022 ?

Because it wont be operational before it. A 100KN engine will be needed to make it supercruise.

5th gen jets are built on 5S standards.

Stealth
Super cruise
Sensor fusion
Super maneuverability
Surviveability in modern threat environment
