And with all due respect and when all is said and done, Australia lacks the ability to do so, even if it so desired. At least as far as Pakistan is concerned it is simply not possible.

The region may be unstable but people of such a differed race with whom we share nothing in common would not be met warmly

Well, Australia was 1 of 4 countries who were involved in the initial invasion of Iraq. The capability is there. Race has nothing to do with the offering of help at all. Australia has deployed to a lot of countries in our region(Papua New Guina, East Timor, Solomon islands) and intervened in conflicts in which we were met with open arms. The people in those countries arent the same race or culture as us either.

I'm sure if the Taliban tried to overthrow the Pakistani government(hypothetically) i bet the Pakistani government would more then welcome help(if needed) especially from a country such as Australia who conducts joint military training operations with the Pakistani military.

We have our own means methods and M.O. To handle the enemy. Won't be a short or easy fight though

Iraq and Afghan examples seem off point since both campaigns ended in failure; incidentally it was US that pocketed close to all the expenses/manpower and "will" to fight (if one would call it that)

No disrespect or contempt intended though. I recognize your military as a professional and celebrated one

The countries that were involved in the Iraq war are Iraq and the United States on the Victor side. Some withdrawn coalition forces were Australia, United Kingdom, Poland, Republic of Korea, Italy, Georgia, Ukraine, Netherlands, and Spain. The countries involved on the oppositions side were Iraq under Saddam Hussein, Baath Party Loyalists, Islamic State of Iraq, al-Qaeda in Iraq and Kurdistan Worker's Party

we will welcome Australian ladies with open arms ! :D

p.s. on a personal note Aussie girls are ugly, not worthy of keeping for long..

Aussie girls are sexy, I have no idea what you're talking about.

Anyways, it's a bull article. Pakistan is no longer susceptible to invasions and neither is India. Pakistan will become stable once again, so there is no need to even bring up military intervention.

But they think just because WMD were not found, it doesn't matter if US and allies succeeded in removing Saddam and installing democratic/friendly government.

On-Topic: Appreciate your help but we can hold our own.

Thank you and rest assured our troops are also ready to reciprocate by lending a helping hand just in case if evil aboriginal tribes from Papua new guinea ever try to topple Australian government(hypothetically).

We should Donate Japanese a whaling ship in the name of enhancing co-operation. That should be enough to **** off all the Aussies since they feel so highly about protecting their whales, which by the way, is very delicious...YUM!!

Australian troops being readied for possible deployment from Pakistan to Lebanon

Editor’s note: if war starts with Syria it will be another act of aggression based on lies like Iraq was and will only benefit the elite who profit from these wars as innocent people die. We already know that for over 2 years many NATO nations such as the US, UK and France have been funding, arming and training al qaeda in the region and sending them in to destabilise the Syrian government.

Australia’s new Defence Minister, David Johnston, says he wants to keep the military battle-ready for further possible conflicts in the unstable Middle East and south Asia.

Senator Johnston said that after 14 years of involvement in overseas conflicts from East Timor to Afghanistan, the Australian Defence Force had a strong fighting momentum that should not be lost as troops return from Afghanistan.

In an interview with Fairfax Media, he said he plans to maintain and ”augment our readiness” for future fights, which will most likely be in the unstable region stretching from Pakistan to the Levant, including even fresh trouble in Afghanistan.

”It will be Pakistan across to Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan. That’s the area where there will be instability and that’s the area that we might need to go back into at some point in the future.

”I can’t foresee that right now, but … if you were to look at where the next area of instability is likely to be – and we’re seeing it unfolding in Syria today – a contribution from Australia is most likely to be in that part of the world in the future. I think Pakistan is also highly problematic.”

The West Australian Senator (pictured), a former justice and customs minister in the Howard government and Tony Abbott’s defence spokesman, stressed he did not see Australians fighting in Syria.

He said he was not preparing for any particular conflict ”in an alarmist sense” but was determined to build on the knowledge and skills the Australian Defence Force had gained running counterinsurgency operations in Afghanistan. That included exposure to enemy tactics such as the use of improvised explosive devices and fighting in urban areas among a civilian population ”against a very, very resourceful and callous enemy.

These are experiences that we’ve lived and breathed for 10 years and we’ve become quite expert in those things. And we’ve got to make sure those lessons are passed on to our soldiers in the future.

”Operationally, we’re starting to come down [in Afghanistan], so we’ve got to maintain some interest for the troops. They’ve got to keep training, got to keep a level of readiness.”

The bulk of Australian troops are set to withdraw from Afghanistan by the end of the year. However, in a reminder of the continuing danger, three special forces soldiers were wounded last week in a battle with insurgents.

A Defence statement issued on Friday said the three elite soldiers had received ”minor fragmentation wounds” while helping Afghan forces fight off insurgents.

Senator Johnston’s remarks come amid a continuing international standoff over the response to Syria’s suspected use of chemical weapons.

Actually the Iraqis were the biggest losers followed by the American taxpayer - and members of the intelligence community (who were never held accountable for their 'mistake')

In fact we enjoy sporting ties and military cooperation

And for that very reason, it would be foolish for Australia to undermine that as well as it's own economic or national security. If Pakistanis (the people) had to contend with foreign boots on our soil (very hypothetical situation) I don't think they would be pleased.

As guests however - Australians would be having great time in our nation and what it has to offer

You guys are missing the point entirely. What you have seen is a glimpse of what the next war theatre is going to look like. It will be a war of possesion of resources on ther surface but will actually be the war of systems and cultures. You will again be asked to take sides and many amongst you will choose the easy way out and side with the aussies and others. Dont worry about the Pathan, the poor soul will be too busy saving his own azz from the bombs reigning down and if you think they will hand you their boys to have fun with then you deserve to die the death of the dog that will be dealt out to the Muslims. So boys and girls either enjoy whats left of your life for the next couple of decades at the most BECAUSE WAR IS COMING TO YOU and you will either die like a dog or sit inside your houses wetting your beds . My advise is learn to fight and bear arms and MOST IMPORTANTLY establish your links with Allah now based on the true teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. It is not without rewason that the Prophet said that the fitna of ther Dajjal will be the worst fitna that will ever face the man kind.
Araz

Are you predicting the end of days?

Oh Boy! I have not done so many things. Cant we have a little more time Sir Doomsayer.
