Australian firm MLA portrays Lord Ganesha in meat ad; 'hurt' Hindus seek withdrawal

Why would anyone be offended - Hindus overseas and in India need to get a sense of humor. I can understand when they get offended if they put pics of deities on slippers and toilet mats. But this one is fine - what's the harm? Funny ad too.

Wouldnt have been an issue if they had put non vegetarian gods such as Durga or Ayyanar (popular in Tn). But Ganapathi is veg :P

Bholenaath was friends with meat eating rakshases, the dad > son.

They can use Bholenath but Ganesha is a poor choice and offensive. Ganesha is the author of Vedas, a Brahmin. As some one said, you must use religious figures with caution and wisely.

The company was ignorant, nothing more, nothing less.

No riots.

No killings.

No bombings.

No revolts.

No public property damaged.

That is how civilised communities protest.

Unless you use a car and move down scores of little kids, it ain't considered a protect in certain parts of the world.

Have you noticed how every one stopped drawing cartoons after Charlie hebdo? Perhaps it's a lesson for Hindus as well?

A majority of Hindus are meat eaters. How do you explain that?

I quit eating meat in India because they pump animals with antibiotics. My folks are religious and don't eat meat.

Even if some of the Dharma Shastra say this - there is no compulsion to follow them.
Majority may be but none of the hindu literature promote meat eating at least as per my knowledge leave apart Lord Ganesha!!! Hinduism does not strictly enforces what to do or not. But not everything should be taken as granted.
This could have been depicted in different ways rather than touching the sensitive topic related to religions or deities.

It's an Aussie ad for an Aussie audience. But I can see why this causes offence to some - I still believe it is not as bad as it being made out to be.

May be for Aussie but portraying wrong picture of deities which is not true. Tomorrow if someone comes to India for the first time from Australia, he or she would be not know the reality and can do something unfortunate like offering some meat product in the temple or end up acting something which will hurt the local population sentiments though not deliberately.

Point is create ad but dont pass on the false information specially when it is about religion.

Wasn't an Aussie tourist beaten up over a tattoo in India? I take your point though.

Brilliant add, Promoting commonality in diversity.. Only insecure snowflakes will get offended, However Muhammad should have been characterized there as well, To include his followers in the Muslim community although he was mentioned

so Muslims don't revere Jesus
Lol

If you don't know shit about a religion you should shut the phuck up and keep quiet
Clown

Lol.. Another snowflake.. Jesus is already there, So should Mohammed to complete the ad, But unfortunately he has gone to pick the kids up from school, Thus missed a good lamb shank

It's not a question of Jesus is considered a prophet in Islam or not.. Talk about being insecure in your own panty.. Btw this is Australia not some third world theocracy anyone or any historical figure is up for scrutiny.. So shutting me up is not an option for ya.. What you can do is scream bloody blue murder in a online forum
