I always find it's amusing how Indians and Turks always brag their so called election and democracy, India had been ruled by one single family for decades and some of their top leaders were riddled by machine guns and blown up to pieces, Turkey was mired by military coups and their human rights records are abysmal.
Fractious democracy is full of infightings and waste of time and resources, that's not what we want, we focus on quickly getting things done, we are result oriented people, beautiful empty election promises won't work here.

We have the same people in Algeria too. I don't blame them though, I call this the ''void'' politics. Our countries have been brought to their knees by corruption, dictators and traitor kings, so some people look elsewhere for solutions. It is our prerogative to rid our countries of their parasites and legitimate local leaders will naturally rise.

Algeria already went through it's ''arab spring'' in 1988-1991, this is something else entirely.

I understand the worries of the people. And the Algerians are the first to know what kind of dire consequences they can face if this movement falls towards violence. Let's just say we are kind of ''vaccinated'' against fitna now. And so far people are hell bent on keeping everything civilized and peaceful. Bouteflika did some good things and a lot of bad things too, but he betrayed us when he decided to change the constitution unilaterally just to stay in power.

While i am no fan of Erdogan i find it kinda funny that Western politicians can use all sorts of abusive language against anyone especially Muslims and face no backlash under the guise of free speech but when a Muslim politician says something "controversial" it causes a diplomatic row
