The tiguan get rated the worst for reliability issues... it is one of the only cars who's online fan forum is flooded by complains by people who should be fan-boys.

Warned.

I cannot speak for redesigned Tiguan US based model. Reliability of VW/Audi has always been questionable. That being said, if you have extended warranty, then you are all set [peace of mind]. :D

Leased VW Turbo once....after recall, VW removed the Turbo kit...and fun went down the drain.

Another great actor. You'll have to open a thread on the topic though. I don't want to derail this one any further. :D

VW Turbo is new technology. It is expected for VW to iron out some kinks in the first five to ten years. Once it is perfected, VW will be leader of the modern engine. Whereas others are yet to venture in the Turbo technology. Honda just started on Turbo technology, and Hyundai/Kia has been doing with Turbo for a while. Time will tell for Toyota.

VW has been doing Turbo technology for a while. There has been some signs of improvements. If anything, they have been remarkable for fuel mileage and healthy horsepower comparatively. And of course, Turbo being new technology is bound to have unforeseen sight of effects. That's what warranty is for.

Extended warranty which will cover the maintenance, repairs and everything in it. When it comes with German, you better have extended warranty, and it is not that hard to negotiate for free extended warranty to compensate for reliability issues and poor resale value. Even the dealerships are cooperative in this matter since they need sale at any cost. :D

It starts from 27420€ in Portugal. Obviously much more cheaper in Germany.

Hi,

Thank you for asking----current generatiom tyurbo chargers are 3rd or 4th generation----.

As for technology---Honda is a decade ahead of technology from other brands---.

What others gained with turbo charging---honda gained with VTEC engines---. What BMW and audi were getting with turbo chargers---Honda was getting similar or better horsepower with its VTEC naturally aspirated technology---.

The reason you see so many cars being turbo charged---is because of the U S laws about gas consumptions---EPA.

Like the all wheel drive on the current aidi's and bmw's and most other highline cars---in its current form---Honda used it on its Acura line models---and called it SH All wheel drive---which was Super Handling AWD----and they started it in 2006----.

Merces---BMW and Audi came out with similar concept some 7-8 years later---.

ACE body construction----honda gave its design for free to all the world auto manufacturer because it provided with more safety for the passengers--- mercedes---bmw---audi---ford--chev---toyota---chrysler---were amongst the benefactors---.

Recall and warranty is two totally different scenario. Recall is some kind of flaw discovered in certain number of cars by the manufacturer or reported by users. In simplest definition ..warranty ...its organized legal fraud.

They are German which proves my point earlier. Audi is VW's premium brand. Most of premium brands is VW being parent organization.

Honda just got started on Turbo technology. Time will tell how Honda's VTEC turbo technology will fare. Right now, Honda VTEC Turbo technology is doing good job with CVT for Civic Turbo and CRV Turbo. I am interested to see how CRV fares.

Recall and warranty is two totally different scenario. Recall is some kind of flaw discovered in certain number of cars by the manufacturer or reported by users. In simplest definition ..warranty ...its organized legal fraud.

I am familiar with Recall. I don't mind recall as long as they fix it for free. That's recall which is bonus if you don't have extended warranty. Besides, almost every car manufactures are now facing recall everyday. Recently, Honda Civic had faced engine recall related with piston in the natural aspirated engine that had been dead reliable for more than two decades. :D
