Sad incident, wish for speedy recovery for injured. RIP to the dead and patience to the loved ones.
It is time to rethink about one way pedestrian traffic on rush places/hours around the world.
No doubt, India owns best city planners but still if the need arise, could get benefit from Saudi Arabian experience (on Hajj occasion).

So sad.. RIP.. Just too may people with little infrastructure to accommodate such large numbers, Having experienced the utter chaos India is it's actually surprising you dont get more disasters like this

India's gigantic population can be its so called demographic dividend or it's downfall.. Lets hope it's the former

Story emerging is that 4 trains landed at once on different platforms.

Leading to hasty re-directing.

Anyone living in Mumbai and traveling by locals would tell you it is not uncommon. I don't know if it was raining and that contributed.

People were rushing from one platform to the other on the over-bridges. To catch their trains.

Apparently 4 women running together lost their footing and fell, screaming.

That created a panic.

And then a stampede. Very horrible man .... we had a bad one years ago at a famous hill top temple with a fire, close to Poona.
