As everyone knows that world media, leaded by India, USA and som other western countries have beaten the big drum for the last 50 years about instability in Pakistan. Caos, political, secterian, religious, gender and all other kinds off trouble. Many NGO's also confirms about the difficult situation n Pakistan.

I therefore wonder why not more pakistanies are seeking asylum in Canada, USA, Australia & Europe. I daily follow world media closly but the see no sign of pakistani seeking asylum, like other people in our neighbourhood do. As iranian, afghani, iraqi, kurd, syrian, palestian, egyptan, algerian, tunisian, marokkan, Sundaneese, Nigerian, Somalian, Etophian and Eritrean.

In my oppinion many persecuted people in pakistan could seek asylum. But unluckily pakistanis dont know about immigration laws in west for asylum like other nationalities do as afghani, irani, iraqi, somali and eritrean.

The road is open, the tickets cheap, and within nine hours, a migrant in Moscow will be seeking asylum in Norway. Now deadlines Arctic asylum route migrants from the rest of the world.

68 percent of all new asylum seekers who arrived Storskog from Russia to Norway last week, came from a completely different country than Syria.

The largest group of migrants on the Arctic route is now Afghans, which accounted for 38 percent of all new arrivals in week 43.

New figures Aftenposten has obtained from the Police Immigration Service show that migrantstrømmen from Russia is about to change the character.

Last week also Palestinians, Iraqis, Tunisians, Ukrainians, Yemeni, Turks, Sudanese, Russians, Filipinos, Moroccans, Lebanese, Iranians and Algerians sought asylum after crossing the border from Russia.

The choice between Russia and Norway

Muhammad (back to) stands outside the offices of one of the few Russian organizations offering advice to migrants and refugees. - I would prefer to Denmark, said the Syrian, who has lived 2.5 years in Russia.
Johansen, Per Anders

In Moscow there are many migrants who are wondering whether they should try chances in Norway.

The route is well known and has received wide coverage in major international media, most recently in the BBC.

- I travel to Norway as soon as possible, says 22 year old Muhammad from Aleppo in Syria when Aftenposten meet him in Moscow.

- Why just Norway?

- I'd rather go to Denmark. Where I have family. They say I should leave right away, says Mohammed, before he asks Aftenposten how far it is from the boundary of Finmark to Denmark, and how much it costs.

The day after calling Muhammad back. He postpones trip:

- Moscow is a great city, I thrive and have friends here. I'll stay here until further notice, said Mohammed.

The Arctic route
Aftenposten has several articles surveyed the new Arctic asylum route.

October 20, the Government decided to return asylum seekers who had already stay visas in Russia. Russia responded the same day by expelling several of the migrants before they crossed the border to Norway.

So far it is unknown whether anyone is sent back from the Norwegian side.

People from 30 different countries have identified Norway via Moscow, Murmansk and the border station at Storskog.

Hitherto, about 2,300 people applied for asylum at the Norwegian border station this year.

A difficult calculation for Muhammad
For Attorney General Anders Anundsen is the bad news that so many more nationalities have discovered the Arctic route.

Conservative estimates is that there are 3 million unregistered migrants only in Moscow, mostly from Central Asian countries, the Caucasus and the Middle East.

The growing economic crisis in Russia largely affects migrants with illegal work.

For the individual, such as Muhammad, there are many to take into consideration before you embark on the Arctic asylum route:

1. Must have a residence permit in Russia.
All who come to Norway this route, must have valid Russian residence papers. Otherwise they release not through the three checkpoints in the military field on Kola and the strictly guarded border zone.

2. Many have already work or studies

The labor market in Moscow is good compared with most other places in Russia and Central Asia. For those who still have a job in Russia, it is more tempting to stay.

3. Many reputable hardly what Norway is.

Norway is a small country in the world, for most. Many people who are considering traveling, do so because they have friends who have traveled ahead and advise them to do the same.

4. Language Challenges

A large percentage have been so long in Russia that they speak the language usable. Aftenposten spoke to migrants on their way to Norway, who speaks fluent Russian.

Millions are without papers

Bicycles left on Storskog of people who have sought asylum in Norway after having cycled ca. 200 meters from the Russian border.
Meek, Tore

Most migrants have come to Russia as tourists.

But one of the reasons why many go on to Norway now, is that the risk that the Russian authorities do not prolong their stay.

Then we have to get to Norway while the Russian papers are still in order.

- I've been Moscow for 2.5 years. I first came on a tourist visa, says Muhammad.

- At first I thought to study, but it was too expensive. Then I worked one year at a restaurant, telling Muhammad

This summer Muhammed refusal of Russian migration authorities renewed residence. He traveled lawsuits in Moscow, but the trial in a local court did not succeed.

Now he has waited too long. Without valid Russian residence papers come he never past the Russian checkpoints.

Now he will instead try to find a Russian woman who would marry him. And he is quite open about their Russian dream woman:

She should have good education - and she should be blonde.

And please don't misguide in the thread title.

Mods plz take action against such people....
Agree. Even big numbers of Pakistanis are migrating illegally by the hands of human smugglers. Maybe not from arctic route but yes they're going one way or another..

Human smugglers needs to be punished. I hope the crackdowns which began recently would not stop until the last culprit is captured.
