What is the problem for Bangladeshis if India fences its borders ? The major reasons for fencing are illegal immigration of muslims, smuggling and illegal cattle trade. It is India's borders to fence.
And, I have only heard Bangladeshis infiltrating into India and not the otherwise. Is Bangladesh a country of wealth for Indians to flock there ?
About 500,000 Indians live and work in Bangladesh. Majority of them are not legal residents. Many of them come from seven sisters areas but also 'Bangla' state, Orissa, Assam and Bihar. This is historical pattern and there will be no stopping it.
The following first article misquotes Indian remittance from Bangladesh in millions - it is (was) 3.7 Billion yearly (legally) and almost equal amount in Hundis or illegal transfers, making a total remittance to India from Bangladesh around $7 billion or so as of 2013. The numbers are a lot higher now.
As of 2014, Bangladeshi remittance from India was also around $6 Billion. So if you consider per capita outflow/inflow then Indians are sending back a lot more because Bangladeshis are employing mostly educated Indians in workplaces.
There should be no fretting over this. You guys need rickshawallahs, we need Accountants.
Even Steven......
Of course if Indians/Pakistanis like it and decide to stay then who are we to say no?
