Aselsan to provide CIWS for Pakistani fleet tanker

View attachment 239970 Systems and electronics house Aselsan has announced a EUR4.68 million (USD5.09 million) contract with fellow Turkish technology and systems manufacturer Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret (STM) to supply close-in weapon systems and communications equipment for the Pakistan Navy's under-construction fleet tanker.

Aselsan said in a 20 July statement that it would supply its STOP stabilised gun system and Communication Switch System (MAS) to be installed on the tanker in 2016.

STOP mounts a 25 mm gun on a two-axis stabilised turret that also features an electro-optical (EO) sensor suite and fire-control software. Aselsan said the EO sensors included a thermal camera, TV camera and laser rangefinder.

STM signed a contract in January 2013 with Pakistan's Ministry of Defence Production to provide technical and material support for the construction of the double-hull fleet tanker, which is being built in-country by Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KSEW). STM is supplying materiel, integrated logistic support, training tests, and trials, along with consultancy and management support for the four-year programme.

The new tanker displaces 15,600 tonnes, is about 155 m in length and will be equipped with replenishment-at-sea rigs and a helicopter flight deck. It is to be powered with a conventional all-diesel machinery plant, driving controllable pitch propellers, and will be able to achieve a speed of 20 kt.

I think PN will buy at least 4-6 of them as they are awesome tankers.

I think they should add anti-submarine rockets too.

4 or 6 is too ambitious as you only have 10 frigates

The whaaaaa....? o_O

It's one of the traditions of the DZKK (TUR Navy). Whener a surface combatant makes replenishment at sea no matter from whose ship it is, after the fuel supply a pirate jack is hoisted on the ship and Ottoman military march Mehteran is played.

Plan is for 14-16 Frigates of F-22P Class

Also there would be 30 SSKs and 5-7 SSBNs in coming time like 15 years. So, we need it for future not at all for now. :pakistan: As this tanker would not be just for fuel but for supplies like small arms and logistics with medical aid.

building such a huge ship will add a lot of expertise to your work force....Good show
once this order is over order more ships to keep skills development in cycle.

how many ship submarines missile boats etc will be rolled out this year from karachi ship yard for PN or any other means

Pakistan can buy many products and can go for ToT & joint ventures with ASELSAN.
