AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi played the beef card in Hyderabad as he appealed to members of the Muslim community to vote for his party if they wanted to continue eating beef.
Campaigning for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, he was quoted as saying: “If MIM is defeated in the election, I am telling you – the members of minority community will have to forget about eating beef,” he said. While making the speech, Owaisi mimicked Modi’ infamous ‘mitro’ saying that ‘mitro would work anywhere but not in Hyderabad.
Deccan Chroniclequoted the AIMIM Chief as saying: “A student asked me why “Modi magic” didn’t work in Hyderabad in the general elections. He said “we can even celebrate beef festival here” and I replied we celebrate it every day in our city.”

He said that Maharashtra already had a ban on cow slaughter but after the BJP government came to power, they banned beef as well.
