That May have happened in earlier days.partition did left a huge impact in nations psyche.
Most of the wealthy muslims left to Pakistan.Those who are left here are extremly poor to begin with.In a way its a side effect of partition.Now govt is rolling out policies to address this problem.

Multitudes of reasons...but point of this article only to look into how economic diparity makes people rise up. and for that writer does fine job explaing economics as being one of the factor of mariginalised community for pushing back. same happened pre partition and same is happening post partition.Just for example reservation for muslims and christians facing great deal of opposition.When hindus are able to corner more than 40% of reservations in jobs colleges etc.When Sachar says muslims are worst in condition than dalits then muslims deserves reservations on par with hindu dalits.

It does prove the writer right that even after 65 yrs of independence muslim middle could not emerge or it wasn't allowed to emerge.

Yeah,some are still here and still very successful.People like Azim Premji will be a good example.But they are rare.Most of the influential Muslims in North India left to Pakistan.As a result theiris huge leadership vaccum among Muslims.This caused a lot problems for them.In South conditions are lot better.Muslims in Kerala are very prosperous community.They have their own party and they are currently rpart of ruling coalition in the state.

Oh come on. Don't lecture us on oppression of minorities. We all know where it is done the most. Look at your own sasural.

We have hundreds of examples of Muslim people at high posts and good jobs. I had teachers and professors from minorities.

First focus on problems of Pakistan. Every other day there is oppression of minorities in Pakistan. Lecture your own people.
