Army to css

Hi..
I want to know that.. Why Army/Navy/Air-force Persons switched( Forces to CSS)
what is the reasons??
Army is best as compared CSS..Then why?

Kia waja h k army sa nickal kr CSS mein ajta hein( Army quota)..

1. A change to get into Government departments which are very diverse in nature; Police, customs, commissioner, forests etc. Where as in military, the life is limited to uniformed duty at command or staff positions.

2. More exposure to public domain.

3. Retaining the military pension and few benefits at the rank of Captain, and getting another pension at the end of CSS service along with benefits.

4. Protocol postings mostly with full facilities at every post, not standing at LOC with troops, neither at Siachen or the desert.

5. Introduction and stepping stone into political arena.

6. Ability to get good position/appointment/job at top level, at the end of CSS service, which is not possible for everyone in Infantry, Armor, Artillery etc.

7. There are more chances of not getting promoted in army/PAF/PN due to health reasons. Such health reasons matter little in CSS promotions

Every year 7-8 military officers join Civil service on military quota. This was started in the era of General Zia. However, this practice needs to stop though because military officers enter civil service through their own military made merit instead of appearing in proper CSS exam. Mostly, those military men join civil service who have been ADCs of Generals, sons/relatives of high ranking military officers or with political background. Another injustice is that they only join or are brought into elite service groups of CSS i.e. DMG, Police and Foreign Service and guess what they are also considered senior to us. In civil service, this practice is considered discriminatory as civil servants are of the view that if military officers intend to join then they should compete fairly by appearing in CSS examination. The performance of military inductees in civil service military quota in civil service has been questionable or as good or as bad as compared to other civil servants. They have been seen aligning with political bosses to the extent of speaking against armed forces to get good assignments. There is a civil military divide in the CSS due to this practice.

Therefore I would like to say that officers from military should join civil service if they want to but through appearing regularly in CSS examination. In this way, civil service will own them and they will also own civil service. This military quota should be abolished. Regards
